In a normal world this would be unusual. But, this is not a normal world.

Kamala fills the vacant seat. She could espouse all the noble reasons why she is doing it. She fixes a major problem as VP.

I know, crazy.

RIP Senator.

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Given our current situation, NOTHING would surprise me!
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Ouch. Ammo company Fenix is celebrating Feinstein's death by offering free shipping to California customers.

In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

In touting her record on important legislation the only thing the MSM could think of was the 1994 "assault weapons" ban!

Boston Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield dies at 57

Wakefield spent 17 seasons with the Red Sox (1995 to 2011), the longest-tenured member of the team at the time of his retirement and the oldest Red Sox player since Fenway Park opened in 1912, and was a member of the roster for both of the Red Sox's World Series victories in 2004 and 2007. He had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer less than a month before his death.

Of particular note, Wakefield's long pitching career came about as a desperate ploy to reach the majors when his skills as a position player maxxed out at the AA level and his fastball pitch (in the 70s) was woefully inadequate for professional ball, prompting him to develop the knuckleball in an effort to stay relevant.

Brain cancer is so awful. Such an ugly disease.

RIP, sir. Sounds like he was stellar, on and off the field.

Shit.  This guy was my hero growing up.  Watching him as a kid I begged my parents to let me play football.  I was a 4th grader and the team at school was 6th thru 8th.  Dad went to the coach and because I was "above average size"  they let me on the team!

He was a bad ass, who could knock some heads in the day.

For Butkus, I feel a Klingon death growl is an appropriate sendoff.

Bears fan from Day Zero, Butkus and Payton were gods among men for an elementary school kid. I loved to watch hum taunt and crack skulls, even if it was just clips of an old game. One of the last of the old school linebackers and brutal assassin on the field. Absolute one of the most intense players I've ever seen and the gold standard of excellence in defensive play.

RIP and godspeed sir.

Michael Chiarello, Celebrity Chef and Former Food Network Star, Dies at 61

Quote

Michael Chiarello, a celebrity chef and former Food Network star, has died. He was 61.

Chiarello died Saturday at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, Calif., where he was being treated for an acute allergic reaction that led to anaphylactic shock, his company Gruppo Chiarello announced in a statement.

“We deeply mourn the loss of our beloved patriarch Michael. His culinary brilliance, boundless creativity, and unwavering commitment to family were at the core of his being. He brought people together through the joy of shared meals, fostering lasting memories around the table,” the Chiarello family shared in a statement. “As we navigate this profound loss, we hold dear the moments we cherished with him, both in his kitchens and in our hearts. His legacy will forever live on in the love he poured into every dish and the passion he instilled in all of us to savor life’s flavors.”

Chiarello hosted shows on PBS, Food Network, Fine Living and Cooking Channel for a decade, as well as appeared as a guest chef on the “Today” show and “The View.” His Emmy-winning cooking show “Easy Entertaining With Michael Chiarello” ran for 10 seasons on Food Network.
