Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten’s wife dead at 80 after Alzheimer’s battle

By Richard Pollina
April 7, 2023

Nora Forster, the wife of Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon, has died at 80 after a years-long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Lydon’s official social media account announced the death of his wife of nearly five decades on Thursday in a heartfelt tweet.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that Nora Forster – John Lydon’s wife of nearly five decades – has passed away,” the tweet somberly read.

Forster had lived with Alzheimer’s for the past seven years, with Lydon being her “full-time carer” throughout her battle with the disease.

I find it hard to believe  that a punk rocker remained married to the same woman for almost 50 years.

Hell,I have a hard time even believing a male punk rocker would even marry a woman. Seems counter to everything they believe in.

Johnny Rotten is a good guy underneath it all.    I remember back in the day he was the only one who dared speak up about Jimmy Savile at the BBC,   only after Jimmy's death did people find out the monster he really was.

DAMN! That is just too much pain for ANYONE to have to suffer. I don't  even know the mother and father, but if I did,I would be grateful for the chance to do whatever I could do to ease their suffering IF that were even possible.

If you've watched any documentaries about the post-WWII war crimes trials, you know this man.

Ben Ferencz, last living Nuremberg prosecutor of Nazis, dies at 103
By Associated Press   via NY Post
April 9, 2023 12:30am

Ben Ferencz, the last living prosecutor from the Nuremberg trials, who tried Nazis for genocidal war crimes and was among the first outside witnesses to document the atrocities of Nazi labor and concentration camps, has died. He had just turned 103 in March.

Ferencz died Friday evening in Boynton Beach, Florida, according to St. John’s University law professor John Barrett, who runs a blog about the Nuremberg trials.

The death also was confirmed by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.

“Today the world lost a leader in the quest for justice for victims of genocide and related crimes,” the museum tweeted.

Born in Transylvania in 1920, Ferencz immigrated as a very young boy with his parents to New York to escape rampant antisemitism. ...

Ben Ferencz was 27 years old during the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials.

Or ever saw "The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the lead actor (Rocky) singing about being from "Transsexual Transylvania"?  If not,I highly recommend it. It is freaking hilarious!

Of course I did Pete, I also probably know quite a bit more about great people born in Transylvania like Elie Wiesel , but I don't think I would use the Obit of someone with  Ferencz's history to take a shot at cheap humor....... :pondering: well maybe....

Michael Lerner, ‘Barton Fink’ actor, dead at 81

By Tracy Wright, Fox News
April 9, 2023

Academy Award-nominated actor Michael Lerner died Saturday. He was 81.

His nephew, Sam Lerner, who starred on “The Goldbergs,” announced his death in an Instagram post shared Sunday afternoon.

“We lost a legend last night. It’s hard to put into words how brilliant my uncle Michael was, and how influential he was to me,” Sam wrote. “His stories always inspired me and made me fall in love with acting. He was the coolest, most confident, talented guy, and the fact that he was my blood will always make me feel special.”

Michael earned an Oscar nomination in 1991 for his role as Jack Lipnick in “Barton Fink.” He had nearly 200 credits to his name, including “Eight Men Out,” “Godzilla” and “X-Men: Days of Futures Past,” with three un-released projects in the works.
