 Pelosi inviting members of Congress for Taiwan trip

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has extended an invitation to members of Congress to join her on a planned trip to Taiwan, according to a House aide.

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was invited to join the Speaker to visit Taipei but is unable to attend because of a previous commitment, his spokesperson Leslie Shedd confirmed to The Hill.

Schedd added that the congressman was disappointed not to be able to join the trip.

NBC News was first to report Wednesday that the Speaker was extending invitations to members of Congress to join her, including Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.), chairman of the Foreign Affairs panel.

    The United States military is making preparations ahead of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's planned visit to Taiwan.

While the speaker's trip to the nation of Taiwan remains unconfirmed and without a hard timeframe, Chinese officials have already taken issue with the idea.

The U.S. military is prepared for every contingency and would increase its movement of forces and assets in the Indo-Pacific region.

If I was a republican I wouldn't want to be anywhere on a plane with the Mad Queen of Hearts if she goes to Taiwan, considering the chicom's...warning, RINO's should feel free to join her.

The U.S. House of Representatives have little to nothing to do with Foreign Poilicy.  That is the domain of the US Senate and the Executive Branch.

There is no need for official internation travel by House Members.

She's leaving on her trip today ..... but refused to say if the itinerary includes Taiwan (for security reasons)
