Breaking: Sarah Palin is running for Congress

 Sarah Palin announced Friday that she would be running for the U.S. Congress seat for Alaska after more than a decade of being out of political office.

"Today I'm announcing my candidacy for the U.S. House seat representing Alaska. Public service is a calling, and I would be honored to represent the men and women of Alaska in Congress, just as Rep. Young did for 49 years," said Palin, referring to the Republican representative who passed away at the age of 88.

"America is at a tipping point. As I've watched the far left destroy the country, I knew I had to step up and join the fight," she continued. "The people of the great State of Alaska, like others all over the country, are struggling with out-of-control inflation, empty shelves, and gas prices that are among the highest in the world."

Palin's announcement linked to a campaign website asking for donations and run by WinRed, the official Republican fundraising platform.

"At this critical time in our nation's history, we need leaders who will combat the left's socialist, big-government, America-last agenda," Palin continued. "This country was built by heroes, and the radical left dishonors their legacies by opening our borders to illegal immigrants, mortgaging our children's future, and selling out our nation's interests to the highest bidder."

Palin said previously that she would run for Congress "in a heartbeat" if she were asked to fill the open seat. She will join a very crowded field of Republicans vying for the at-large seat for Alaska. ...........

I'll have to do some research, but I never saw her as a liberal. Yes she ran with McCain but I believe he selected her because she was a female conservative which he needed to increase his chances of winning.  What he and the GOPe didn't realize was just how unpopular he truly was.

If she goes back to who she was when she was last in elected office -- a scrupulously honest crusader against corruption with both conservative principles and an ability to work across the aisle -- she would be great.  If she stays in the reality-TV mode she adopted when thrust onto the national stage, not so much.

They already are,but she's not running for office in Alaska,is she? Seems like the last I heard,she was living somewhere in the US. Can't remember where because I really don't pay to much attention to her. Truth to tell,the left and their RINO allies have slandered her so much I doubt she can get elected to any office,anywhere. If she ran for some city council seat,the left would organize a "get Palin" campaign with the full support of the DNC,as well as their money.

In MY opinion why they hate Palin so much was they spent mega-bucks to get McLunatic nominated and bribe him to throw the election,and then Palin,who they thought was a brainless bimbo because all the Dim female politicans are brainless bimbos,steps up and damn near wins the election for him.

McLunatic spend more time slamming her than he did his opponent.

I really wish he was buried closer to me so I could go urinate on his grave.
