This drone strike tragedy calls into question the idea of using “over-the-horizon” capabilities to deal with future terrorist threats in Afghanistan.
I'm not sure dropping a JDAM from 10,000 ft. would have had a significantly different result. (Even the concrete-filled 'kinetic weapon' ones used in Iraq have a kill radius that would have taken the family out).
