Too bad the people of El Salvador don't seem to have any interest in electing politicians to make El Salvador stand on it's own, without welfare from the US or anywhere.
What's China going to get from El Salvador in return for the money? Bases and bananas?
BTW, guess who is El Salvador's largest trading partner? Yup. The US.
The US needs to start getting tougher with these people. But we also need to pay attention to the Monroe Doctrine.
Fine if China wants to loan El Salvador some money. But the US should make it clear that if El Salvador defaults on the loan, (he said "if" hahahaha...) then China will not be allowed to occupy the country and control it like they've been doing in Africa and elsewhere.
It's bad enough that China has bases in San Francisco, New York and Washington, we don't need to have them lurking just off our borders, too.
