HUGE: Schumer’s Dreams Crushed After Two Democrat Senators Oppose Ending The Filibuster

by Chris Donaldson

Democrats and their extreme agenda to remake America to their liking just took a major hit after two of their senators said that they would not be going along with any effort to eliminate the filibuster.

On Monday, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Joe Manchin of West Virginia dashed the dreams of the fully radicalized party to strip the minority Republicans of any procedure that could be used to block their drive to cement themselves into a permanent ruling majority.

The defection of Sinema and Manchin at least temporarily stalls such lunacy as granting statehood to Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico giving Dems four new senators, the elimination of the Electoral College, and packing the Supreme Court.

Republican Senate Minority Mitch McConnell hailed the news.

Quote
Leader McConnell
@LeaderMcConnell
I’m glad that two Senate Democrats confirmed today they will not vote to end the legislative filibuster. They agree with President Biden and me on protecting the Senate.

With this win, we can move forward with a 50-50 power-sharing agreement built on the 2001 precedent.

Never fear, leftist morons.   There will still be enough RINO sellouts that side with you rats to stop the filibuster.   Count on it.

And even if the Rino's don't vote to end it, history tells me that a promise from a Rat is worthless. The two Rats can easily turn around and say "this bill is too important to be stopped by the filibuster" and then vote to end it.

I missed something.  How does it work to get two dims each in the formation of two alleged states?  I thought the voters had to vote them into office.   ****sheep****

I repeat, as in another thread...

If McConnell thinks he can trust Sinema and Manchin?  He is more gullible than we thought.

I was going to say you spelled "stupid" incorrectly, but changed my mind.  I don't think McConnell really gives a damn.  His off ramp is in his line of sight --- and it's being greased as we ponder his deeper motivations.

Mitch McConnell Just Failed Republicans By Caving To Democrats’ Filibuster Scheming
January 26, 2021 By Jordan Davidson

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell just failed the GOP.

First, he aided the loss of the Georgia Senate races by playing political games with the stimulus bill. Next, he toyed with the idea of a purely political and yet another sham impeachment, this time of a former president and now private citizen. Now, he has opened the door for progressives and Democrats to annihilate the filibuster and remove Republicans from the legislative discussion table.

At first, McConnell seemed to be standing up for the GOP, demanding that Senate Democrats promise to preserve the legislative filibuster, after years of threats that it would be removed, or he would object to a plan to organize the upper chamber. Just last year, the possibility of nuking the filibuster became more popular among Democrats, especially if Joe Biden were elected president and the opportunity to push through radical legislation without tangible opposition presented itself.

“I will not stand idly by for four years and watch the Biden administration’s initiatives blocked at every turn,” Democratic Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware said in an interview with Politico. “I am gonna try really hard to find a path forward that doesn’t require removing what’s left of the structural guardrails, but if there’s a Biden administration, it will be inheriting a mess, at home and abroad. It requires urgent and effective action.”

He IS a failure as far as the GOP goes.  He did seem to change his tune after McCain passed and Trump was able to keep him in line a bit; it makes me wonder what Trump had on him?
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Not to worry.  Both want juicier committee assignments so they can go back to their constituents and claim victory.  Then they will find an excuse to change their minds and vote for ending it.

Clearly, she recognizes that Trump won Arizona.

The AZ Dems almost Censured her for not being 100% anti Trump with her votes.  She was only 85% anti Trump.

Which makes them different from at least 25 percent of the RINO's in what way?

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
conservativevoter,

What part of Puerto Rico and Washington DC being 95%+ registered Democommie do you not understand?  For eternity, there will be four Dem senators should these become states.

It is imperative for Republicans to not let this happen.  If it does, they will be in the minority for eternity.  We become a one party system.

So let's see, Trump won't be convicted and the filibuster still stands (as of now). Things are looking up a little.

Puerto Rico doesn't want to become a State.  And DC won't be willing to give up the Seat of Government for Statehood.  Without federal government jobs, Washington becomes a cesspool worse off than Baltimore.  Because at least Baltimore has a port.

I'm not sure making DC a state is constitutional.

It is Constitutional to make Washington a State provided that the US Capital District is relocated first.  Washington cannot be a State and the Seat of Government at the same time.

If Herroner the Mayor wants to govern Washington, then it cannot be the US Capital.  And if it loses its status as US Capital, it will capitulate into another Detroit.

IIRC, because Puerto Rico is a commonwealth they do not pay federal income tax although they do get subsidized by the federal govt.
