Migrants Likely Helped Flip Georgia Blue, With 50,000 More People Moving Into the State Than Out Last Year

Georgia had the sixth-biggest net inflow of any state in 2019, and affordable Atlanta is perennially one of the most popular destinations for Redfin.com users leaving expensive coastal areas.

SEATTLE, Dec. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- (NASDAQ: RDFN) — People moving to the Atlanta area from pricey, liberal metros like New York, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles is likely one factor helping tilt Georgia blue in the 2020 presidential election for the first time in 28 years, according to a new report from Redfin (redfin.com), the technology-powered real estate brokerage. Other factors include activism and a coordinated get-out-the-vote effort.

Joe Biden won Georgia by roughly 13,000 votes after President Trump won the state by about 211,000 votes in 2016. In Fulton County, home to Atlanta, Biden won by 46 percentage points, an uptick from Democrats' 40.6 percentage-point victory four years ago. Georgia's next-most populous counties, Gwinnett, Cobb and DeKalb, all voted Democratic by bigger margins than 2016 (Gwinnett: 18 points, up from 5.8 in 2016. Cobb: 14 points, up from 2.2. DeKalb: 67 points, up from 62.9).

Even without the cheating, Georgia was well on its way to eventually "tipping to the blue side".

Comin' up next: North and South Carolina.
Arizona is gettin' close (if not there already).

And eventually, down the road at the moment but eventually inevitable, is... Texas.

Add Florida to that list.

More than migrants, it is the youngsters that tend to be more progressive. They are more progressive than the average democrats.  Unless GOP modifies its platform they will stop expanding the base. It might even shrink.  Trump has certifiably shrunk the base although he eked out some votes in key areas. Biden got 42% in Alaska. That is the highest by a democrat since Lynden johnson. Trump beat Hillary in Suffolk county, NY by 8 points in 2016. This time he beat Biden by 1% in 2020. His base has shrunk across the country as many red counties flipped to blue. Mostly anti-trump votes rather than anti-GOP votes.  Texas is rapidly becoming blue. In the last 10 years, the highest population increase happened in Texas. Added more than 4 million people. It will continue increasing.

Wrong.  The GOP modifying its platform is why the GOP has died.  We need a new party of true Constitutional conservatives that offers an opposition to the socialist left.

This is a new one - Trump shrunk the base. Don’t believe your lyin eyes folks, Simon says Trump, who received 74 million votes a month ago, shrunk the base.

All kinds of BS flyin around these days.

Romney got 61 million votes with 35 million fewer voters. Romney had 47.2% against an incumbent president. Trump as an incumbent has gone below 47% second time in a row. Don't look at raw numbers. Look at the percentage. When the number of voters increases obviously raw numbers will increase. He probably gained something among minorities. But only marginal. But lost a lot. 15 reliable red counties across the country have turned blue this time.  in many counties, he lost ground. If anything he has gained some ground in big cities somewhat.

Only meaningful if you believe all those 2020 votes were legit. It is abundantly clear by now in this age of mail in voting they were not.

I find it encouraging. Either the rats or the GOPe, or both, are worried. They beat Trump, so what’s the worry?

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Clearly, those 50,000 people voted more than four times each.

Don't look at raw numbers. Look at the percentage.

A percentage drawn against fraudulent votes.  Are you illiterate when it comes to math, or are you intentionally trying to deceive us?

There was fraud in Georgia, I'm fairly confident of that.  However, the widespread shift in margins cannot be dismissed, and was far more likely to have determined the outcome.  This happened in suburbs all over the country.  Trump did better in some hispanic and depressed counties, sort of held his own in the rural areas, and collapsed in the high income suburbs.

Don't blame "migrants".  Look at the evidence right before your eyes.  It's all captured on video when counting stopped and everyone was sent home because of a "water main break".  Well, all but four people who were damn busy for two hours as the spike in votes for Biden proves.

This spike is mathematically impossible without cheating, and it coincidently falls within the same timeline that the new ballots were captured.

Nonsense. The Hispanic people I have met here all want to work, and to move up by doing so. They aren't looking for handouts, just opportunities. Maybe that's different in Georgia, but they don't want on the Plantation here. More likely an IT guy from Southern Asia who programmed the machines...

Nope.  Donald turned out the suburbs blue.  Check out the shift from 2012 to 2020 in each of those counties.  Not since 1976 has the map looked so blue.  He handed the dems 2 congressional districts also.
