Reinstate? Reassign? Navy to decide fate of fired captain

In the glare of a public spotlight, Adm. Mike Gilday will decide whether Navy Capt. Brett Crozier stepped out of line when he went around his chain of command and sent an email pushing for action to stem the outbreak. As of Friday, 660 sailors on the aircraft carrier, now docked at Guam, had tested positive for the virus and seven were hospitalised.

The Prima Donna asshats in the Navy were exposed for being the bleepheads they are,and now they are embarrassed and don't know what to do about it.

They can't give him his command back without admitting HE was right and THEY were wrong, and they just flat can't ever admit they were ever wrong about anything.

No cocern it seems as to who LEAKED the email and jeopardized nat'l security.

Until the Navy leadership resolves that, they look complicit as hell, especially now knowing that Crozier and the rear admiral didn't get along.
The Republic is lost.

Reinstate him.  They totally lied about him.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

You know as well as I his career is over though it appears the leadership was at fault.  They may reinstate him but he will never make flag rank.  If they reinstate him, he would be better to resign his commission and retire with full benefits.

I agree, but the sad,sad truth is he will never again be promoted, and will be shunned by his fellow officers who don't want/can't risk friendship with him rubbing off on them. The Navy brass is going to be STEAMED at having to back down and admitting they were wrong.

The good news is that if he is re-instated,he will get to retire at his full rank with the full pension he earned. Which is what he will do at the first opportunity because he KNOWS he will never get promoted again no matter what he does.

That is EXACTLY what will happen. We have both seen it happen. The good news is that this way he gets the full retirement benefits he earned.

He has the respect of his crew.  The guy who fired him resigned.

The fact that some asshat civilian political appointee had to resign means nothing to him. His whole life was dedicated to serving in the US Navy, and now that has been taken from him,and he has to leave with a mark on his record.
