Well unfortunately if you go by strictly by facts you would have to take what Trumps says literally and that doesn't go so well either. After he speaks it usually takes a news cycle or two to get what he said "clarified" to what he really meant to say...

So we just get a big mess as a result fueling the fire on all sides. Hell, I was just called "dishonest" for hitting the quote button on someone's post where I changed nothing...

That dumpster fire emoji would be handy now...

Exactly!  When quoting Trump or any of his fan club is called lying, there can be no civil conversation.

Two hours later, lots of conversation and anger, and I’m still laughing that t_s actually thinks that sinkspur runs this place!

What a hoot!  :silly: :silly:

(But it sure explains a lot oh his off-the-wall I hate this forum posts! Lol!!!)

I'd be laughing too, but I don't know if there are others who believe that nonsense.  We banned Sinkspur many moons ago, and it wasn't because of his opinion about Donald Trump.  To think he's in charge of the forum that booted him with an extremely rare permanent ban is "fake moon landing" level conspiracy theory.

I hate to see TBR becoming an outlet for Democrat propaganda, especially in an election year. There is too much at stake.

Rest easy. It never will be, chicken little cries notwithstanding.

Trump says campaign rallies won't stop over coronavirus fears

by Rob Crilly

March 07, 2020 08:48 PM

PALM BEACH, Florida — President Trump said he had no plans to scale back his campaign rallies and was not concerned about the new coronavirus reaching Washington, D.C.

Speaking to reporters at Mar-a-Lago, ahead of a working dinner with Brazilian President Jair Bolsanaro, he was asked whether the emergence of a case at last month's Conservative Political Action Conference would force him to change his mind on holding big campaign events.

"We'll hold tremendous rallies," he said.

Earlier, it emerged that a D.C. man in his 50s had been hospitalized with COVID-19, the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but Trump said he was not worried about the disease's proximity to the White House.

“I’m not concerned at all,” he said.

Not a damn bit different than the insipid pap coming out of conservative outhouse and brightfart.

Echo-chambers have their own special kind of ugly, Democratic Underground being an extreme example. Less extreme, echo chambers encourage laziness of thought and confirmation bias based choices of information sources (rampant on DU and the latter exhibited on some conservative discussion sites). Treehouse and Breitbart are nowhere near that league, though. I take the latter with a grain of salt and the former with a block of salt.

While I've been infesting TBR for less than 8 months, I do not think TBR has been anywhere near an "outlet for Democrat propaganda".
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
Thats why the Good Lord gave us the power of critical thought.
I want to have fun too!
Is that critical thought as in

Critical thinking means making reasoned judgments that are logical and well-thought out. It is a way of thinking in which you don't simply accept all arguments and conclusions you are exposed to but rather have an attitude involving questioning such arguments and conclusions.

Or Critical thought as in

crit·i·cal
/ˈkridək(ə)l/

adjective
1.
expressing adverse or disapproving comments or judgments.

"he was critical of many U.S. welfare programs"

It seems to me that a lot of us tend to the latter rather than the former too often. But no matter what, I'd rather be here than TOS where it seems every article is met with hateful and ignorant comments. Here it's more like family having a blow up and then putting it behind them..............well most of the time :pondering:

I certainly understand one of the President's many duties is to calm and reassure the American Public in the onslaught of 'The Virus Panic' the MSM is creating and pushing 24/7 but sometimes I get very confused as to how he can attain that with a filterless mouth and twitter account, just as @Chosen Daughter did.

Yes, I think that's an accurate assessment of our little world (which is getting new Members this morning because TOS is down again).

We have a Boardroom?  Why aren't there donuts and finger sandwiches?

The hell with the donuts (fattening) and finger sandwiches (eeeww).  I want champagne!

The truth is most of us would likely get along pretty well if together in person. Especially when there's much more talk about than politics.

Absolutely correct, @DB!  It's a pity our ships crossed in the night, and you moved to my old city just as I was moving out.  We'd be tipping some Adult Beverages by now.  I have a full bar (including a Kegerator) in my new Castle, but it's about 4 1/2 hours away from your new digs.

They probably considered that @DB but realizing the Cyber Liberty Lunatic had a bunch of cats they scratched that idea as unfeasible.

What made ToS a place of renown in its heyday was its ability to dissect news and prove it. There were enough members across the US to provide eye witness. There was enough expertise in various venues to speak with authority and provide relevant material.

I prefer that critical look, which *is here*, but often tamped down by those desiring an echo chamber, and others who just like throwing poo.

I prefer a critical look at 'our side' as being more important than being critical of the other - self policing used to be a feature in conservative circles. And looking at our own with a jaundiced eye provides metering (or rather, used to) that liberals lacked.

That is no longer the case - Neither in right-side journalism, nor in associated commentary.
And in that, where MSM could not be trusted, now nothing can be trusted.

I'll be down your way in May, for the State GOP Convention in Phoenix.  Maybe we can find a spot in the Hotel Lounge to bend the elbows a couple of times?
