Also, I do not remember stories of Jewish people, after being deported from Germany several times, going back into Germany and committing felonies.
@GrouchoTex I do seem to recall reading and hearing about a BUNCH of them trying to run across the border from the German side, though.
One of my mother's cousins married a Jewish survivor of a camp when he was a MP in Berlin right after the war. She was the sole survivor of her entire family, and living in a refugee camp where he was a guard. They married,he brought her to the US when he got out of the army, and they remained husband and wife until she died in the 80's. She was penniless and living in a refuge camp for the homeless when they met and married, and had no clue she stood to inherit millions once her family estate got sorted out by the courts after the war.
She even refused to go to Germany to sign any of the legal documents or to view any of her family property before she put it all up for sale. She just took what was offered to avoid even having to think about it,never mind relive the memories.
Once she got her estate payout, they spent the rest of their lives owning and following race horses. Lived in upstate NY in the summer, and Florida in the winter. VERY nice lady, but very quiet. She usually wore long sleeve blouses so you couldn't see the tattoo on her arm,but I did see it.
