Think of it like the Roman Catholic church rank and file. The church opposes birth control and abortion, and yet the vast majority of Catholics use or resort to both and ignore the church's position. Sorry, but only 40% of Catholics have said abortion is okay, and that doesn't mean they have had one or been 'in on it'. That's a long way from "the vast majority".
