Serious question............

How do you know that no one is convinced of the arguments either way when there are many who don't post?  How do you know that no one says, Oh, wait....... that IS what I believe...... who doesn't post openly about it.

Maybe there are only a few who get involved publicly, and maybe it seems to you that the same arguments go round and round, but isn't part of what political forums are for, to present debate points that others can read and think about?

I think those who want to stifle the debate of those on either side who truly believe in what they're saying are a bit short-sighted.  It's true that if you truly believe something you won't be convinced by the same argument, but not everyone is as solid as those who post, and many can be persuaded or strengthened by the arguments presented.

I, for one, will continue to present my well-considered, long held convictions and opinions freely (harassment or no), and hope to persuade at least one lurker of the value of the principles that this country was founded on and not the expediency of "getting along."

A political “party” doesn’t change it’s platform by non-votes, but rather by a primary votes—the only tool we have to shape the party from within the party. A non vote or protest vote in the general is about at useless as teats on boar—it’s a two-party system.

Time for choosing the direction your society will head. Non participation doesn’t count.

First of all, I have no party (spit!).
Equally it can be claimed that a party that has successfully seated far more moderates and liberals is not even going to pay its customary lip-service to conservatism. And all y'all put em in there.
