Maybe the House Judiciary Committee should go home early now that former special counsel Robert Mueller has already definitively stated that his two-year investigation of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election was not so much as sneezed on by President Trump.

Georgia Republican Rep. Doug Collins at the top of the hearing, which is expected to last for several more hours, asked Mueller at the very top if his exhaustive, invasive probe was in any way “curtailed or stopped or hindered” by the president or the White House.

Mueller, fulfilling Democrats’ great hope that he would bring his 400-page report “to life,” said simply, “no.”

Democrats have all but dropped any hope of finding a conspiracy between the Trump 2016 campaign and Russia, perhaps because Mueller’s report definitively stated that it found none, so their fever dreams rest on the assertion that Trump, at least in his heart, wanted to obstruct and stop the special counsel’s investigation.

Well, now they have their answer, for the 100th time.

A meeting in which the "dirt" was actually some opposition research provided by Fusion GPS, the same firm that Hillary Clinton had secretly hired to invent the Russia collusion hoax. A befuddled Mueller said this was outside his purview.

This is delicate to say, but Mueller, whom I deeply respect, has not publicly testified before Congress in at least six years.  And he does not appear as sharp as he was then.

Robert Mueller is getting destroyed!

Mueller was just forced to admit that there is NO policy or precedent for his statement on exoneration.

This is completely backfiring on the democrats.

Thus far, Bob Mueller has outdone himself stretching beyond the four corners of his report to answer any and all questions that could hurt the president while sticking to a blanket “outside my purview” on any and all questions that might help the president. Bias?

I'm not sure anyone could have done more to discredit Mueller's report and investigation than Mueller is doing right now. He can't answer simplec questions about his own investigation, fumbles answers about his own report, and seems utterly befuddled by what's happening.

Impeachment in the House requires a majority; with no vacancies or members not voting, that threshold is 217 votes. Impeachment advocates are almost at 44 percent of way… on the easiest step.
