Some people have never let them die.  You can tell which ones here like to stir them up every so often.  Out of the blue they'll toss the same old disproved lies about Cruz from the 2016 campaign as if they were somehow now the gospel truth.

"Some People..."?

You can go back and scan every 'Cruz Thread' that ended up being locked...   I don't even click on the SOB until it gets to 6+ pages.

Furthermore, I'm just going by what my eyes see.

The reason he said "vote your conscience" was, POLITICALLY, inexcusable.   Similar to the pathetic excuses used by non-Trumpers here.

We're not talking about anyone's personal morals here....the "go too" which too many here are quick to hide behind.

I would follow the Devil herself into battle, if it meant Socialism never sees the light of day in my lifetime.

Donald Trump is a 'Saint' in my eyes.

Donald Trump is a 'Saint' in my eyes.

Then I'm sorry for you.  No one is a saint in DC -- especially Trump.  I pray someday you and so many other will someday realize that he is not a savior before it's too late.

Donald Trump is a 'Saint' in my eyes.

You should study up on 3rd-Way socialism, @DCPatriot , and then your saint may not look so saintly.

The ONLY path toward liberty is toward federalism and cutting this federal behemoth down to size. Drastic, cataclysmic, reduction. Anything that does not start RIGHT THERE is part of the problem.

Tumpy is the same as the socialists, just thinking he can do it better. And all y'all are seem to be fine with that.

I am not.

Let's get back on topic.  Trump won.  It's over.  Stop boring us with this old feud...

Any other Cruz vs. Trump comments you have, take to PM going forward.  This never ending feud is easily the most stupid, repetitive topic that generates the most insults from member to member and the most disgust from those who don't want to read this stuff again.

Remember this is "2020 election is a 'coin flip' for Trump", not "we love Trump/Cruz and hate Trump/Cruz."  Take those comments to PM and any and all comments that appear to be likely to start up the Cruz/Trump wars will be deleted and the poster warned to not make those comments again.

Cruz is absolutely correct, there will be "“staggering Democratic turnout".  I think the real question is what can he do to capture more of the Independent voters, those who refuse to vote for him because of character and bring back voters he's lost along the way??

I too believe the Dems will really mobilize their base this time.  But I do think unless Trump actually does something major regarding his 2016 promises -- particularly as to stopping the invasion of illegals and so-called refugees -- the votes of independents and the presently undecideds will be lost.

I'm sorry, but I don't see him and the Republicans doing anything within the next year.

Pretty much what he's doing on the independents.  I don't think the other two groups you mention matter that much compared to the number of people who thought, "Trump as POTUS???  You gotta be kidding me!" and have been quite surprised that he's really not that bad.  I think a lot of people who didn't vote for a reality TV star will vote to reelect him.

Unless the economy tanks.

Not quite following.  What is he doing on the Independents?  So you're saying that the #Never Trumpers don't count??  Well, if that's the thinking of his re-election campaign, that is a huge mistake.

The economy is cyclical and also runs on fear and greed.  What many are upset about is his run up of the deficit and his failure at the border.  Unless those two things change, I don't think he's going to capture the votes needed.

Secondly, there is still talk about impeachment and the Mueller testimony.

Trump's re-election is far from guaranteed.  Not even close.

I'm one of those people.  Not because I think Trump has turned out to be "not so bad", but because he has delivered on the judiciary (even as he has failed in immigration and further ballooned the debt), and I am concerned that he is *losing*, not *gaining*, independents and others due to his continued puerile immaturity.

There is a fair case to be made that his confrontation with "The Squad" has forced the dems to accept "The Squad" as their face to the public, and that face will repel independents and moderates.  But that doesn't mean those people will be drawn to Trump.  At some point he should consider the wisdom of doing nothing when one's enemy is destroying himself.  But Trump is too much of a narcissist to ever remain quiet.

Exactly.  The Squad may repel some DEMS, but the 2020 election is about electing a president and they can vote out the Squad down the road.  It is the Independents that I am concerned about as well...I just don't see that he has done much to win their vote.

He's building credibility.  Many people who saw him as a joke in 2016 will see him as a man with 4 years experience as POTUS in 2020.

When you compare that group to the NTs, no I don't think the NTs really count.  There are many, many times more people who barely pay attention to politics if at all than there are NTs (or the people who show up at his rallies).

I'd agree with you, if I thought most people were paying attention.

But most people, IMO, are going to look at the economy (as in how secure they feel, not the published numbers), gas prices, relative quiet in the ME, etc, and say "hey, things are doing pretty good, why make changes?".  The point I was going for is a lot of them wouldn't have taken Trump seriously last time, but will this time.

If Trump had not made the hideous remark about McCain, he may have gotten an Obamacare repeal, among other things.

@cato potatoe

How is it possible to make a remark about McLunatic that is even faintly as hideous as that treasonous bastard was?

Which is exactly why Trump caught on with voters. He’s not a career politician and has the impolitic habit of speaking his mind about the issues working Americans care about.

@aligncare

You would THINK that people who claim to be independent-minded and conservative wouldn't need to have this pointed out to them over and over,wouldn't you?

Instead they seem to want more of the same,and will then wonder why nothing changed.

And he certainly is humble. :rolling:

@berdie

So what? Humble people are afraid of pissing people off. HOW is that a good thing when the system is on the verge of collapse due to the corruption of the leadership of both branches of the Internationalist Party?

@libertybele

Dims ALWAYS have a "staggering voter turnout" because of their habit of buying votes from homeless people and paying them in pints of whiskey.

I guess with the new bunch of bought voters,they will have to pay them with Tequila.

We either stop the invasion of illegals and the Dims registering them to vote ,or America will cease to exist after the 2020 elections.
