"...all are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
That statement has gone by the wayside - say that, "innocent until proven guilty" to a real "Q" person or on the net to one of them you can't identify, and I have done it both ways, and you get clobbered because these so-called conservatives want thousands dead right now. This mind-set is new, beginning two years ago and brings out the worst in people.
John Kasich is on TV right now and just said, "Love your neighbor as yourself" and these divisions would go away. Kasich is a Christian and that guides his life. He is no longer acceptable to "conservatives" because he wants peace instead of war among citizens and believes one is innocent until proven guilty.
Jurisprudence is a process.
We have outlined that process, the determination of whether a crime has been committed (we have rules for that), gathering of evidence, (and have rules for that), obtaining warrants (and have rules for that), arrest, trial, evidence and testimony presented by both sides (and we have rules for all of that), conviction, or the default finding of innocent in the event that guilt is not proven beyond a reasonable doubt (yep, rules for that, too), and sentencing (uh-huh, still more rules), if appropriate.
Then there is the process of appeal (with still even more rules for that). I can understand the enthusiasm many here have for expediting the process, but that breaks its own rules, takes on the character of a lynch mob, and loses any legitimacy within our system of jurisprudence.
That noted, the march to the gallows begins with the first step. Patience is a virtue.
All will come before one final Judge, sooner or later.
