Pelosi Forms Climate Crisis Committee to Address Threat to 'the Whole of God’s Creation'

WASHINGTON -- House Democrats are preparing to take control of the lower chamber next week by forming a new Select Committee on the Climate Crisis -- but some members of the caucus aren't happy.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), the caucus' choice for the next speaker of the House, today announced the appointment of Rep. Kathy Castor (D-Fla.), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, to lead the select panel.

"She will bring great experience, energy and urgency to the existential threat of the climate crisis," Pelosi said in a statement. "This committee will be critical to the entire Congress’s mission to respond to the urgency of this threat, while creating the good-paying, green jobs of the future."

She called Castor, who has served in Congress since 2007, "a proven champion for public health and green infrastructure, who deeply understands the scope and seriousness of this threat."

Best thing I have seen on climate change was the cartoon that said 'when the rich begin giving up their beachfront property, maybe then I'll begin believing in climate change'.  Until then, they can shove their self serving carbon tax where the sun does not shine!

My hunch is this committee will come to the conclusion that they only way to combat this made up crisis is to tax people into making the changes that they feel are necessary, all the while lining their pockets.

Joe Bastardi, finest weather guy on planet, says there is a pattern to weather since time began, and this pattern cannot be changed by man. Pelosi is fighting against windmills that don't stop.  I hope the Senate dumps every climate bill sent to them.

Unfortunately, there is a whole generation which has been saturated with nothing but, in every form of media, from textbooks to "Captain Planet". People love to be a 'hero' and what's better than 'saving the Planet"?

They will have to be deprogrammed. The old textbooks and such debunked, right down to the National Geographic Magazine, which suffered a huge credibility loss in my eyes over the issue. More's the pity, much of the interest in archaeology and geology I have --leading to a career in Geology--came from early articles there which piqued my interest.

Not really, even though that seems to be working in France.
At the latitude I live at, they'll be dead. You can't just up and restrict "fossil" fuels without not only crashing the economy, but the body count in winter will be huge in areas where subzero temperatures are normal this time of year.

The idiots who come up with a lot of this crap live in areas where they think 60 degrees is cold.
They have no effing clue.
