@Maj. Bill Martin @Mesaclone You all are two of the smartest, nicest guys on the whole forum.
Apparently the forum is not ready for you, but good try.
Believe it or not, there
has been some movement on this forum by some who were previously NeverTrump, all the time. Hell,
I moved from where I was on Trump to where I am today.
@Jazzhead has been at least somewhat radicalized by the way the Democrats have behaved on the Kavanaugh nomination. To the extent there are incorrigible Always Trumpers, who believe he does not wrong and condemn anyone who says otherwise, there's no point arguing with them to the contrary. And to the extent there are NeverTrumpers who are the flip side of that coin, there's no point arguing with them either.
But there are a lot of people along various points of that continuum who respect and respond best to those who are not so nasty/dogmatic. Like many people here, I came over from TOS after being sent to the kids' table (having posts pre-approved) simply because I questioned Trump. And to be honest, a lot of my anti-Trump feelings were actually anger at some of his kookier/nastier supporters.
I was so angry at the TOS AlwaysTrump nutbags -- who were nasty to the core towards anyone who questioned their Messiah -- that I didn't want to give them the satisfaction of supporting Trump. When I left TOS and came here, I had a lot less exposure to those thoroughly annoying people.
@Mesaclone was an early Trump supporter who was not a nutbag, and as I read his posts, the anger I felt at Trump because of his TOS
supporters dissipated, and I thankfully ended up casting my vote based on the candidate, not based on his most annoying supporters.
The biggest problem here are the generalizations made about "NeverTrumpers" and "AlwaysTrumpers". The vast majority of people and posters here and elsewhere do not fit the stereotypes their opposites like to imagine.
