Don't You Wish NeverTrumps Would Just Go Away?

We are quite accustomed to the media and the left ginning up phony outrage as a means of virtue-signaling and attacking President Trump.  Russian collusion is the standard, but it hasn't panned out as planned.  Next in line are Stormy Daniels, Michael Cohen, Melania's shoes or jackets, Trump's tweets, and how many scoops of ice cream he gets for dessert.

This week, they are apoplectic over Trump calling out NATO members for freeloading off the largess of the United States, not paying their fair share for defense, and cutting side energy deals with Russia.  Many so-called Republicans are outraged over Trump's candor, preferring the typical American president's approach of bowing low and grabbing one's ankles.  That's what they call dignified and smart diplomacy.

It's not only the left constantly criticizing President Trump, but another even more bothersome group, as they should know better.  NeverTrumps are an annoying group of supposed conservative Republicans outraged that Donald Trump won not only the GOP nomination, but also the actual election.  Their fury grows, as Trump has been in office for over 500 days, and their efforts to turn Republicans against him have failed spectacularly.

In fact, at day 500, President Trump has the second highest level of support, 87 percent, within his own party going all the way back to the days of Truman.  Only George W. Bush had a higher level of Republican support, 96 percent, at a similar time in his presidency, shortly after 9/11, when the country was more unified than it has been in recent history.

Trump is 10 percentage points higher than Reagan at 500 days and 8 points higher than Obama.  So what are the NeverTrumps yapping about?

The logic of the NeverTrump movement is twisted and getting old . . .

The NeverTrumps need to decide which team they want to be on.  If they support the Democratic Party, just become Democrats and be done with it.  But then don't claim to be a conservative, as the two are mutually exclusive.  In the meantime, just go away, and let Trump continue making America great again.

I'd like the NTs to be honest about who they are and what they want.  The cloak of principled conservatism is wearing very thin. 

And as long as they are given priority in the media there is a responsibility to expose the political hypocrisy .

What you call an echo chamber – a trite view anyway you look at it – I call a growing gathering of vocal support for the most effective president in recent memory, who is fighting hard on the Right side of my political issues: immigration, burdensome regulations, tax reform, economic prosperity and government corruption.

Spouting self righteous blather as regularly as Old Faithful and finding inconsequential nits to pick about President Trump is unhelpful in the larger scheme of political events.

The people that have legit beefs with Trump here or there I don't have a problem with. It's the hyperbolic pearl clutchers that oppose him for the sake of opposing him who are past their sell-by date.

Honestly....?   I sometimes (when I'm in the mood)..... wish that both the NTs AND the ETs would just STFU.   STFU and think for a change.... vs. emoting and knee-jerk reacting or acting like authoritarian jerks.

All the endless rehashing and squabbling over past Trump BS is accomplishing nothing for the nation OR for this forum.  And while we're on the subject, neither is the posting of these troll/bait threads by the ETs .... of which the sole purpose is to get in a dig at 'the other side'.  And the same goes for the similar troll/bait threads by the NTs.

It appears that there are members on both sides that couldn't care less about unity, national or otherwise.  And that's what's sad and scary.   I hate to post a tired olde saying, but it is never more true than right here, right now, this day.....

United we stand, divided we fall.

Look around the world.  Those nations that have fallen and are falling as we speak are all infected and inflicted with a divided populace... which results in chaos... which results in collapse.

As a nation, we may be able to withstand assaults from our enemies without.  But our enemies within, ever creating inner divisions with malicious intent, may well end up defeating us....

if we don't wise up and prevent that from happening by becoming a united front against ALL enemies of a free and Constitutional America.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.   Pick a side.  You are either on the radical left's side in this greater battle.... or you're on the other side.... the right (literally) side.  Anything else is just tired and worn bullchit.

In real life they have gone away. I don't know any GOPers in my daily life that dislike the President. The only place I run across them are here and some talking heads in the MSM.

I don't think you could even read the group as a full percentage as a part of the population.

No one wants NTs to die ... just to come clean about their true political goals.  I'm not talking about the NTs on this forum, and neither is the article.  I'm referring to the national NTs who have been given a free platform to diminish and stall the Presidency of Donald Trump in the hopes of replacing him with one of their own.  And this is what concerns me --- why are they hiding their preferred replacement?

I don't care if they try this--but don't do it in the name of political "principle" or "conservatism".  Time and again they prove they are neither.  They need to speak up and tell us who they would replace the President with---and why.
