The one other article on illegal immigration from this reporter I was able to find was from February, and was typical 'Trump driving immigrants into the shadows' heartstring pulling stuff.

So I'm writing this article off as left wing media agitation.

Its pretty obvious the media seeks to demoralize the base going in to the  elections. Trump needs to keep this in mind the next time they try to buffalo him with another bullshit story.

The optics are unacceptable.   The political damage caused by separating parents and kids is devastating.

But Trump may prevail in the end.   He is retaining his zero tolerance policy while detaining parents and kids together.   He therefore changes the optics and forces the Dems to come clean regarding their true goal, which is to restore catch-and-release and do essentially nothing about the assaults on our border.    That's because the policy of detaining lawbreakers and their kids will be challenged,  likely successfully, in court.    And at that point,  Trump can say - look, America, you have a choice.  Enforce the law or not.   I bet that most Americans choose the former, and that Congress will at long last be forced to act.

If there is what they're doing, there's no need to panic.   Resources must be assembled to detain parents and kids together.   It can't be done by snapping fingers.  A few folks may have charges dropped in the near term.   But if migrant camps is what folks want, migrant camps is what they'll get.
