It's sad that despite McCain's service and sacrifice during the Vietnam War, what he will be remembered most for is how he screwed his party, the people who voted for him and the nation as a whole.
Why sad, he made the choice. His love of power and money exceeded his love of country.
Equally sad, that he will also be remembered for his actions that resulted in MIA's and POW's not coming home.
@libertybele That bears repeating.McCain blocked attempts to find MIAs and living POWs in Vietnam.
Apparently you haven't heard the propaganda tapes he made FOR the commies. I have. You really should check them out. If you call that sacrifice and service, it may well be ... but... it was service for the Viet Cong, not for America.
Wasn't he coerced into making those tapes?
And why would he do that? Possibly, because he knew they were already dead? Or maybe because, if found, they would bear witness to the torture and human rights violations. Either way, he's a traitor in MY book of logic.
Compare and contrast McCain's behavior with that of Jeremiah Denton.
@XenaLee Nobody really knows why, except him of course. My theory is that his supporters didnt want the communists to be portrayed in a bad light.
Here's what McCain will be missing at his funeral:
He continues to make that choice in his final days. That power and greed also seems to exceed his love for family. Despicable.
