Senate GOP campaign chairman calls on Moore to be expelled if he wins
By Ben Kamisar - 11/13/17 03:24 PM EST

Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), who leads the Senate GOP campaign arm, is calling on the Senate to expel embattled Alabama GOP nominee Roy Moore if Moore wins December's special election.

Gardner's statement on Monday goes further than his condemnation in the immediate aftermath of a report in The Washington Post last Thursday, when a woman claimed Moore touched her inappropriately when she was 14 years old.

"I believe the individuals speaking out against Roy Moore spoke with courage and truth, proving he is unfit to serve in the United States Senate and he should not run for office," Gardner said.

"If he refuses to withdraw and wins, the Senate should vote to expel him, because he does not meet the ethical and moral requirements of the United States Senate."

So .... it is becoming apparent that the GOPe and the DEMS will find a way, any way to ensure that their candidate of choice is seated; the heck with the people's choice!  Banana Republic anyone?

At the rate things are going, we are headed for a full-blow revolution, not just a civil war.

If Moore wins the election and the senate expels him, the governor gets to appoint another (or the same) interim Senator.

Let me guess. It would be Luther Strange.

That would be my guess ... he'd be safe until the mid-terms.

I don't know who makes my skin crawl more, the "Turtle", or the "Insane" one?

This isn't going to go away, Moore may very well be innocent, but he's been guilty every since McConnell decided he was ... every since his candidate Strange lost!   9999hair out0000

Sessions categorically said "no"

He also said 'no' to resigning as AG but he may not have a choice about that.

Could he rescind his resignation? Is there anything that allows or prohibits it? He was elected to a six-year term, after all.

No he can't. The Senate also cannot just decide not to allow Moore not to do his job if he is elected. This is all sophistry by the panicked Establishment.

There’s no provision in the Constitution for the US Senate to nullify Alabama’s choice of who will represent them in congress.

And this clown is a campaign chairman and senator? Let’s remove him for stupidity.

But what if Sessions rescinds it before the election, rendering the whole reason for the election moot?

That’s very nice. How does that pertain to Roy Moore?
