One in custody. Pick up truck struck people on bike path, came out of truck brandishing gun- current info.

An attack for sure. but too early to label as terror.

I'm in NYC. While they're already downplaying terrorism on TV, the local newsradio stations (CBS and WINS) are not discounting the possibility of terrorism and questioning the narrative of "road rage" given what happened.

Right. Not a terror attack. We just need to ban pickup trucks (the weapon of choice for rednecks [like me, probably]).

If I remember correctly, that's a real bike path, not just a bike lane - as in, a place it would take a little effort to get your car onto (over a large curb, etc). There's a bike/jogging/walking path separate from the West Side Highway down most of the West Side.

Been a few years since I've been on it, though, and I don't remember if it goes all the way down to Battery Park.

Just so this is noted when all this goes down the memory hole. A witness said that the driver jumped out of the Home Depot truck, "screamed something" and then began shooting. They've repeated this on the radio a few times.

Incident near World Trade Center. Still a lot of confusion, saying perp was on highway, went on bike path and back on highway. Near Stuvyesant HS- lots of confusion.

That is the problem with first reports. Sometimes buggy. The news is now saying 6 dead, .15 wounded. Praying for victims.

Radio (WCBS) has just said that they feel they have to take back the "road rage" statements and that they were much too quick to say so. They've taken in back and say that they think this was intentional, and CBS TV now says it is being investigated as a terrorist incident.

Okay, so now we ban rental trucks. (The muzzies have often rented their attack trucks. Only problem with that circumstantial notion is that the perp might not have been a muzzie screaming "Allahu Akbar." Maybe he was actually a crazed Star Wars fan yelling "Admiral Ackbar!".)
