Marijuana Crop Is Burning in the California Wildfires

Wildfires are ravaging farms, including those that harvest cannabis in California’s Sonoma County. Jim Wilson/The New York Times

Fatal fires that have consumed nearly 200,000 acres in Northern California, devastating the region’s vineyards particularly in Napa and Sonoma Counties, are also taking a toll on a fledgling industry just months before its debut: recreational marijuana.

Many of the region’s farms, including those that harvest cannabis, have been scorched, including those in Sonoma County and in Mendocino County, the center of California’s marijuana industry. Mendocino is one of three California counties that comprise Emerald Triangle, where much of the United States’ marijuana is produced.

Hezekiah Allen, the executive director of the California Growers Association, said Thursday that at least seven farms had been destroyed, and that he expected the number to “increase significantly” as people returned to their homes. Tens of thousands of cannabis growers live in Northern California.

Some people are speculating these fires are aimed at the marijuana growers and the speculation is NOT that some puritanical prohibitionist types are doing it but the competition of the growers, maybe even the Mexican Cartels.

70+ mph winds that are dry and warm in these parts is a big deal. It is very believable that a tree or trees fell into the power lines that night. That can easily lead to a fire or multiple fires in remote locations up wind. Once started under those conditions it is literally a fire storm.

Some people are speculating these fires are aimed at the marijuana growers and the speculation is NOT that some puritanical prohibitionist types are doing it but the competition of the growers, maybe even the Mexican Cartels.

If California is growing mind-altering drugs that competes with the Mexican drug cartels to warp the minds of Americans even more than they are warped already.... no wonder God is burning it down.  Burn baby burn !!

According to Scripture, it isn't God's will that anyone should perish.  He isn't sitting on His throne, hooting and hollering and cackling about what's happening in California.  With that in mind, maybe you ought to check yourself before you claim the name of Jesus.

But how many pages in the Old Testament part of your Bible
may still have pages stuck together because they have never
been read?  It might benefit you to read those parts because
they are just as important as the rest of the Bible. The entire
Bible gives the history and the entire picture of how God interacts
with His people.  Those who ignore it are doomed to repeat it.

God knows. 

Not even a sparrow dies outside of the will of God.

Sometimes even the righteous die young to protect them from a greater evil ahead [Isaiah 57:1]   King Josiah, the last righteous king of the Southern Kingdom of Israel [Judah],  is an example.  Israel was living in sinful rebellion against God and was doomed to destruction.  But when the king read the forgotten books of God's law,  he knew God's sword of doom was hovering over them and he repented and tried to enact righteous reforms [like getting the sodomites out of God's temple.]  Because King Josiah repented and enacted righteous reforms,  God told the king he would not witness the judgment of God, the horrific destruction of Jerusalem and the temple that God was going to bring upon the sinful nation via Babylon and Edom. Later King Josiah died from battle wounds... ironically it was a battle of Israelites against Egyptians who were crossing God's holy land to fight against Babylon.

Think about this... if God punished a sinful Israel whose king repented and tried to make righteous reforms... what would God do to a nation that doesn't repent and continues to embrace  abominable evil ??
