Then Dread-Scott and Prohibition were perfectly good, authoritative decrees in your book.

@INVAR

I'd add Korematsu v. United States to that mix too.

I think he knew that Strange would lose but wanted to return Strange's support of him. I think that Moore understood what was going on and will act accordingly.

I hope so.   Maybe that would mean that story going 'round that it was his son-in-law, Jared, who suggested he endorse Strange....was bogus.

Rush's take is the same as yours.   It was strategic and acknowledged Strange's base.

...still think Moore is going to get a couple a "Bridges to Nowhere...."  before this is done.

Not following your thinking here.  Perhaps you should clarify your point so that it makes some sort of sense.

You are going to have to explain a bit.   I'm not sure which of my arguments you are calling "leftist bullshit",   and don't worry about your "combat skills".   I don't.  :)

Hmmmm.......... somehow you took my direct response to Jazzhead - and assumed I was replying to you.

... you Trumpers were expecting us to take 20% and be happy about it so your guy could get a WIN, any WIN.
Even Reagan wouldn't have approved of the new Trump math, in spite of your modern day comparisons, which IMHO are just farts in the wind.

None of the proposals were a 20% for "our" side.  Saying so does not make it true @corbe

No.  Since Reagan, they have been considerably less than 20% towards the Conservative side and more for the Democrat/Socialist side.

But hey - that's what you people call 'progress' - as the nation edges towards insolvency, insurmountable debt and currency/pension/insurance collapse and the power of the Beast squeezes what is left of our liberty ever-harder.

Enjoy your crumbs.  It's all you will ever get as you lick the palms of your masters and beg.

My fault.  I saw the mention of Dred Scott,  and so far as I know,  I'm the only person on the forum that has publicly stated that Dred Scott (as a matter of law)  was correctly decided.   It is an unpopular position,  and this made me think you were addressing me.

My apologies.

Nonsense.  Moore will be one more vote preventing Republicans from reaching a majority ..... so nothing will get passed and McConnell can rest easy.

None of the Republicans want to accomplish anything beyond keeping their jobs and TV appearances.

Yeah. It's a real shame there wasn't a leader in the White House who could galvanize them to action. Instead we have this buffoon called Trump. Sad.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

You are blaming Trump for the fact that half or more of the Republican Representation in Congress has sold their souls to the Washington DC power structure?

They voted to repealed Obamacare something like 40 times or so when they knew it couldn't possibly happen because of an Odumbo veto.

Suddenly you think their intransigence has something to do with Trump?

It would not make a Rat's @$$ of difference who was President right now.   If Ronald Reagan himself was in the office,  our side would still not repeal Obamacare because they have become owned by the Washington Establishment-Deep-State-Crony-Capitalist power structure.

Jazzy likes to preach the legal and moral supremacy of judicial precedent as the supreme law of the land, as if 9 justices in black robes were vicars of infallibility.

My apologies.

No need to do so.  I figured that you mistook my reply to our resident Leftist as a direct reply to you.

Whatever helps you overlook this truth @bolobaby  --- we've got a conservative leader right there in the Senate itself.  He's a part of the body politic, an actual native son.  I haven't seen where he's moved one vote in his direction.  But for him we deem this to be a sign of heavenly principle, not an inability to lead, compromise and govern.

So spare me your knee jerk hatred of the President, it's predictable and vapid.

Oh, do stop trying to be clever @RoosGirl   Here's my point:  If we don't blame the brilliant, principled one who shall not be named for not being able to lead the Republican Senate caucus...and he's their native son ... to meaningful legislation (and I don't), by what guiding light do you turn around and blame the President?  (Hint:  hatred is not a guiding light.  I learned that from the Bible.)

I get the impression @Right_in_Virginia is talking about Sen. Cruz the second most hated man in the US Senate, the first being her pride and joy~Trump.

*The* Sen. Ted Cruz?  Yep, I got that impression she was talking about Ted Cruz also.  Ted Cruz is the first name you think of when someone mentions Senate Conservative.  I can't think of any other conservative Senate leader than Ted Cruz.

Hey, did you know he was born in Canada?  Ted Cruz that is.  Ted Cruz was born in Canada.

Pointing out conservatives repeated political mistakes is not hatred @RoosGirl ... it's helpful...even hopeful.

I realize there are lots of dots to connect with this statement ... so I'll give you a moment to get your knee to jerk.
