We're fixin to load up and go see some other fireworks @corbe. They have 17,000 lbs. of bombs this year. That has to be better than watching a 2TC explode.

This one Vietnam veteran was telling me that he was flying a B-52
when a crewmember said "Turn!" because he
"saw a telephone pole coming up at them."

He turned the aircraft (he doesn't even know which direction).
The missile actually bonked the aircraft and didn't explode.

mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.

@bigheadfred better go get your fire suit.
I just 'unfriended you' you should be ashamed throwing all that RED MEAT at once to the Trumpsters here.

Okay.  I've analyzed some of the long threads here and I hereby pronounce that we are able to go 2, maybe 3 pages with civil disagreement.

After that ...it gets ugly.

BTW, it is not red meat to Trumpsters ... it's astonishment to any thinking person who loves his or her country to wish for Hillary because you're ticked off at Trump.

120 lbs of tannerite, an old Maytag Fridge from 1971, a 30:o6 with Leupold scope accompanied by fried chicken and potato salad make for a very fun 4th.

I recall a vet telling me they referred to the SA-2 Guideline as a "telephone pole" but I'm not sure that was the only model.

To your First point @Emjay, just in June we had several threads go to 20 pages, ok, they may have been locked at one time or another, BUT We Briefers are capable of civil discourse MOST of the Time.

And to your second point and the most important, I might add here the inclusion of more words, Brevity is highly overrated, @bigheadfred had a moment of delirious hallucinations and threw that hellary vote thing out there so you Trumpers would quit riding his but about it.
Of Course I could be wrong.

You are right. I have noticed that there are those who dive into a good discussion and pollute the thread with snarky sanctimony.

I remember an employer asking a guy who was looking for a Job where they were when He called about some concrete work.

The Job seeker's answer? I was on a conference call.

Hey @Emjay.

Read some commentaries on Job 38. Then get back at me.

I've been a member of this forum for a couple of years now.  There was a time when almost everyone was civil towards each other and until recently, I don't recall threads being locked ... just sayin'.

I know.  It's the Trump thing.  It drives people on both sides a little nuts but it seems to drive nevertrumpers way over the edge.

You keep making that assumption, yet, here you are, dissing nevertrumpers again. You brought that up. Who is obsessed with what, @Emjay ?

How can you possibly question that assumption and still live in reality-ville.  It's the thing that starts every fight here.

There are three basic thought patterns here.  There are a few people who genuinely admire Trump and always have.  There are more people who despised Trump during the primaries and cannot give it up or don't want to .... or don't think Trump deserves a chance.

There are people here who don't care for Trump but are able to be reasonable about it and discuss issues without vitriol

There are a few people, like me, who loathed Trump in the primaries but believe he is entitled to a chance and so much better than the alternative.

Look, I've participated in a lot of threads and it's always the nevertrumpers who start making nasty comments and personal insults.

If you can prove otherwise, have at it.  But just saying it doesn't make it so.

I am probably more idiotmatic (when you say the the first thing that pops into your head and it is probably the last thing you should say), in some ways, than the POTUS. I don't try to be mean. I'll repeat something I said on another thread. Being POTUS is a black tie affair. I expect them to be respectful in that sense. You don't show up in undersized shorts showing you're nuts.

I think the vast, and I mean vast, majority of the people in this country have lost their spiritual minds. It shows in so many ways. In so many aspects of life.

This is a good forum. You can fix your replies. Ignore people. Ignore topics. The best part is you can develop a good rapport with people. That is something I don't do very well so maybe I place more importance on that.

The acrimony has been evident for as long as I've been here.  It is, after all, what drove some of us to leave TOS.  At least here the moderation is fair and you are not zotted for having a differing opinion.
