The topic is the shooting of Republicans by a gunman who seems to be a Bernie supporter.

Rush Limbaugh's bona fides as a conservative is an interesting topic- maybe best explored in its own thread.
I daresay that leftist radicals like our boy the shooter would not give much attention to nuanced discourse concerning Mr.  Limbaugh, if he could have gotten Rush in the cross hairs, he'd have pulled the trigger. Maybe that will be the new litmus test for authenticity - if a leftist homicidal lunatic tries to murder you, then by God you're a "real" conservative.

What has me concerned is that there are likely hundreds or thousands (tens of thousands?) more weak-minded, psychotic freaks just like this fruitloop all over the damn country with inclinations to do exactly the same thing.

The scolds should be directed at all of us.  We have turned this incident into so much partisan bickering and finger pointing.  This is about a guy with an obvious, untreated mental illness who today decided to go off.  We are just as bad as the libs who are blaming it all on guns.  Instead of hurling accusations at one another, maybe we should work together to come up with some real solutions to the ever-growing problem of mass shootings.  As long as we ignore the mental illness behind these incidents, these shooting are just going to continue, and people will die needlessly.

There really is no solution to ""focus on"".   It is what it is (ie we're stuck with the problem).  The only thing we might be able to do is criminalize certain media spews that incite violence.  But that would be anti-constitutional.   So there really IS no solution that I can see.

Special Agents David Bailey and Crystal Griner were both wounded in the incident. Griner was shot in the foot or leg and Bailey, who was not shot, sustained another, unspecified injury.

Perhaps toning down the hatred and resentment inherent, and increasingly tolerated, in the rhetoric of the political left so that the less mentally able in their midst are not driven to acts of violence would be a good start.
