Ivanka Trump said Monday that she was not expecting this level of “viciousness” toward her father, President Trump, and his administration.

“It is hard, and there’s a level of viciousness that I was not expecting. I was not expecting the intensity of this experience,” Ms. Trump said on Fox News.

She did say that she wasn’t expecting the job to be easy, however, since the administration was trying to “change the status quo.”

It must be nice to be brought up in a bubble-like environment where you are insulated and protected from the realities of just how rabid and vicious the left can be.... and IS.

Just because you went to a fancy school that your legacy father got you into doesn't mean you're bright. She has lived in an effete Progressive bubble her whole life and was so incurious about the real world that this is all a great big surprise to her.

I know articulation and "bright" are not totally correlateable.  But being at a high level in Trump empire, plus being 35 years old, I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.  Was she totally obtuse to anger and rage during the election?  Or thinking it would end after the election?

She is trying to make a point by feigning shock and disbelief.  However, I, too feel a tinge of shock and disbelief.  I did not expect the media to go quite so all-out in attempting to get Trump out of office.

Ivanka comes across as an intelligent woman, though I wonder if she's really enjoyed rubbing elbows with all of those deplorables over the past year.

At that, the vicious nature of her father's campaign was something that was lauded over and over by supporters as 'finally taking it to them', 'telling it like it is', 'not being politically correct', and so on (lather, rinse, repeat).  There is no playing innocent or naive in this. When you act like the enemy (as you put it), you are going to become what you hate. Hell, her own brother the other day was calling them 'not human'.

This is the nature of politics and even society today.

Hell, you can talk about a rock on the internet now and it will degrade into a spitball fight.

Trump himself has always had a reputation for only surrounding himself with 'yes' people, so you can imagine the kind of support network he built for his kids.  People often create their own bubbles and then it becomes so normal, they think all of reality is what they see from it.

I think you touched on something there. All those liberal former friends turning on her had to sting. Especially when a person is the same person they ever were, when your posse turns on you, it isn't any fun. It's a brutal eye-opener for anyone, at any age.
