...conservatives; the very base that got him elected.

Conservative parties exist and are insignificant in most elections.

If you think Cruz would be having more luck with congress I think you are wrong. The government is broken. It will take more than one man to fix it.

They don't like Cruz that much either but he knows how to politic.

The admin's start has been a little rough, but nowhere near this writer's hyperventilation.
However bad Trump stumbles, he's still a huge improvement over what Hillary would be like.  That is not good enough....Trump's bumbling disgraces the party and by extention the conservative movement of which he is the putative leader....even though he has virtually no interest in conservative principles.
Nevertheless,  we should give Trump a year's time before passing judgement.  The party screwed up nominating him, but he is the president and not Clinton.  While I'm sorry Trump is the prez instead of just about any other Pubbie who ran, he's not the total disaster as depicted.
Gerson is a little over the top in his denunciation...for one thing where's this huge famine he's spouting off about?
Trump is doing about 5 on a scale of 10.  But Hillary would be 0 for 10.
I guess we can be grateful for that and hope His Orangeness grows out of his adolescent behavior.

What a cop-out.

At least he ain't Kim Jong-Un! We should be satisfied with that.

Its who he is and its not going to change or get better. It will get worse.

We were told how he would begin to act presidential once he had the nomination in hand. He didn't. We were told he would act presidential once he gets into office. He didn't. Now I'm hearing that we've got to give him 6 months or a year and he'll settle into acting presidential. Its not going to happen. He's the same  tabloid TV celebrity he was in the 1980s and he isn't going to change.

Frankly I expect him to either resign or switch parties while blaming everybody else. Which route he chooses is entirely dependent on which will garner the most attention.

He is already switching parties.  He said he is going to get health care whether it is Republicans or Democrats to give it to him.  He is very willing to go there.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

I just read that Ivanka and Jared Kushner are becoming the dominant power center in Trump's WH. That should make for some interesting contortions defending the stuff that Trump will propose in the next few years.

speaking of interesting contortions I have a question for you.

If two gay black men get married and then one leaves, how do you categorize that?

Yeah, agreed. Other admins have had rocky starts too but I don't remember anything this bad. Plus with other Presidents I think they might be humble enough to learn from their mistakes, but I just don't see Trump doing that. Hence it will only get worse IMO.

Obama head a pretty Rocky start but the difference between him and Trump is that Obama didn't attack his own party when there was a setback or he stepped on it.

Pelosi and Reid had his back and he had theirs and they were able to move forward despite Big Ears ineptitude.

Can't say that's the case right now with Trump and the GOP.

The problem here is Trump is his own party.

Trump hasn't done anything really to secure any trust with most of the GOP House members or those in the Senate.

He really needs to do that and stop attacking Conservatives...especially this close to the mid terms.  He's just giving the Dems ammo to use against the Republicans running this year.

When you get right down to it, why do Trump supporters think they can shame people with accusations of disliking Trump?

This is America.  When did not liking a politician--- or anyone else, for that matter--- become wrong?  It's a free country and we can all like or dislike whomever we want.

Dislike of Trump is perfectly valid, is not shameful or wrong, and doesn't need to be defended.

Absolutely.  Dislike of Trump is not only valid, it's almost become a hobby.

Maybe she'll write a third.  And a fourth.  Your approval isn't necessary.

Bitching, scolding, and criticizing how others post seems to be the lion's share of your content, so If I were you I'd be minding my own posts instead of playing the cranky hall monitor.

@libertybele posted a diatribe about various Trump failures.  I simply helped her to understand that she was mistaken about some of them.  She reacted badly.  I gave up and admitted that I am a something I don't remember.

You are mistaking friendly, informative comments for bitching and scolding.  And you sound a little cranky about it.  So how about cutting it out.

Not sure why you hang in here when you are so worked up about people talking politics.  This isn't an alter to the Donald.
