President Donald Trump may have 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue all to himself.

Though Donald, 70, and his wife Melania announced in November that the first lady would relocate from New York City to Washington D.C. once their 10-year-old son Barron finished up the school year, a family insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly that may not happen....

I'm sorry but I think it is her obligation to move to Washington where her husband is.  If she was so set against doing that and helping her husband during his Presidency than she should have told him and he shouldn't have run.  I think it is important to have a spouse to talk when you're the President.  That is, of course, if they have a decent marriage.  Maybe they don't so it won't matter.  Who knows.

I would rather live in DC than New York.

I agree with you. First I'm not so sure if this is fake news, however, it is very rare that you see an actual 'connection' between the two; she seems very standoffish when he's around and rarely smiles.  In watching his inauguration it seems like her smiles were forced for the camera; the distance between them even dancing seemed unusual; he bent down and said something to her and then she smiled ... almost if on cue.  She's seems very uptight and tense around him.

This picture speaks volumes.  Most spouses wait for one another.  This was supposed to be an exciting day for them and it was a moment they should have shared ... certainly Trump could have waited for her and escorted her up the stairs or at least walked in unison.  Nope; he's way ahead of her.  There seems to be absolutely no closeness between the two of them.

Obligation? Who cares what the broad the President is sleeping with does? I am very excited by this just for the fact that these First Ladies seem to get their fingers involved in things that they have no business in. Hitlary and Hitlarycare and the Moochelle School Lunches come to mind. I vote for a President, not the broad they're banging. I also like that Donny will be focusing on work and not getting yelled at for leaving the toilet seat up.

I love Trump but when he danced with Melania at the Inauguration there was zero emotion or warmth between them. It was obvious. It was like a hot woman having to dance with the ugly guy at the prom/wedding social function and she just can't wait until it's over.

I figure she will split after 4 years and be paid off.

I'm not a fan of his, BUT, Families should be off limits, no one likes having to explain their Family to anyone else.

Yes obligation.  It's not just some broad he's sleeping with, Melania happens to be his wife and mother to his son.  First Lady's have always took on at least some type of 'stewardship' role  in their husband's presidency's  Most influential that come to my mind are Nancy Reagan, Barbara and Laura Bush, Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, Jackie O., etc.

Melania though doesn't look comfortable being his wife, let alone being the First Lady of the United States and she was pretty much absent from the campaign trail.  I find it very unusual actually. Perrhaps this is why rumors have been floating around that Trump's daughter Ivanka will fulfill the role?

These things they get involved in are not required in the Constitution. They came about because they got bored hanging around the WH. We don't need it anymore. On top of that she is the one raising the boy while Donny is running the country. It's not like she took off to Vegas with the gardener.

You mean they didn't display their "love" like this couple?

Some people are very private, and I think Melania is too.  As far as her staying in NY - I'll believe it when I see it.  There's a lot of unfounded fake news out there & I have heard Trump say that she and Barron are coming to Washington at the end of the school term.  Everything Melania has done - she has been crucified by the media - I don't blame her for not wanting to suck up to them.

Besides, Melania had that pretty dress with the fancy trim on the front of it - I'm sure Donald didn't want to mess that up.  Anyway, I didn't notice any coolness between them, I thought the dance was nice.  Much ado about nothing.

The First Lady taking a role beside her husband has been going on since the beginning of our country.  Obviously it's not in our Constitution, but the role of First Lady has become customary. At the very least, Melania should be around to be a hostess and welcome the wives of other leaders that may came to the White House.  There is no reason Melania can't raise Baron in the White House; he's not the first child to be brought up in the White House by far; Amy Carter, Chelsea Clinton, Jenn and Barbara Bush, Malia and Sasha Obama ... good grief ... all the way back to Tad Lincoln.

Yes they did! @Right_in_Virginia

As far as him leaving her at the White House steps while he greeted the Obamas - who is to say that she didn't say, "you go on up, I'll be behind you"?  All speculation at this point.

So who were James Buchanan and Grover Cleveland's First Ladies when they took office? Obviously they had them because of the historical significance.

She is not just some "broad" he is sleeping with.  I find that offensive.  She's his wife and the mother of his son.  They both knew that there would be a role for her to play.  I'm not talking about sticking her nose in things that she shouldn't.  I'm talking about her obligations as his wife.  It appears that marriage doesn't matter much to you.

Good Lord, I never saw that picture before.  That's awful.  Know wonder he's been married 3 times.  You'd think one of them would have taught him some manners. 22222frying pan

It appears that marriage doesn't matter much to you.

So your definition of marriage is being tied to the hip? People work in one place while their family lives in another. This isn't that uncommon.

As for me calling her a broad, that is what she is. That marriage they have is nothing but a business arraignment just like all the other Donny marriages. The only people who put any more into it than that are hopeless romantics or shut ins. That business marriage is common in NYC. Wives even get performance bonuses for performance such as running the household and making sure the kids overachieve.

Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Primates of Park Avenue. It will clue you in to what Donny and Melania are all about....

That was a demonstration of embarrassingly bad manners.

They will ultimately do what's best for Barron."

Nothing burger.  I imagine she isn't happy about the ugly remarks about Barron all over the Net.  I would not blame her if she tries to keep him out of the stench of DC.

Personally I figure their marriage and whatever kind of arrangement they have is up to them.  I don't approve, though, because it will deprive me of seeing her fashion choices.
