I'm done @Lando Lincoln and I agree with @alicewonders that using the word 'worship' here is a misnomer, it should be more like a strong forever forgiving adulation instead.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

First you're not sorry for the thread jack.

Second...FFS how many more times do you need to be told that what you're hinting at is NOT the case here?  The Mods have answered this before as has the owner.  Why do you continue to stir the pot?  Do you just enjoy playing the victim card?  Or is this a coordinated effort to try and discredit TBR by people unhappy it's not worshiping Orange Jesus and allowing people to have differing opinions?

See?   this is exactly what @Lando Lincoln is talking about.

I don't 'see' one bit of 'snark' from @alicewonders here in her post.

What she's saying is that grouping all members here who have supported and defended Trump against the opposition as (fill-in-the-blank) is just plain wrong and untrue.

It's the exact same thing 'they' complained about when we grouped them as "Haters".  They complained vehemently and hysterically to the point MODS and administration here had to step in and guess what?   THEY SIDED WITH THEM!

ARGHHHHH!

I didn't dare respond/comment on the few last night who said they were tired of the snark....because lately, my 'gloating' or rubbing their faces in their poor sense of the political landscape was, in the end....snark.

Those who really know me over the many years know that when I don't feel attacked, I post nothing but respect.

We used to police ourselves in here...with the caveat that we should "play the ball and not the man".

Treat people in the manner you wish to be treated.

I'm willing to start.  What say the rest of you?

You have to share in the provocation.  I am so sick of this endless doo-wap crap.

I'm sick of it too Lando - I don't like being accused of that.  As a Christian, it is very offensive to me to be told that I worship a human being.  It steps over the line in so many ways.  As far as "getting over it", I am really trying to do that - and I want to say that I am impressed with so many here that I know were Trump adversaries in the past, that say they will give him a chance now.  Tell me I'm trying to be a "victim" if you want, but no one likes their faith being mocked, it's just wrong.

Point taken - not the place to discuss it.  Back on topic.

It would be funny is Trump did it in a folksy Reagan kind of way but I've never seen Trump do much of anything humorous. From what I can tell Trump hung it to massage his delicate ego, which is weird IMO.

I think Trump has a dry sense of humor.  I see a LOT of humor in what he does!   LOL!

I'm sorry, but I have to call you out here.

If you would have posted what you've just posted on this thread last freaking Summer, maybe things would have been different.

You are tremendously respected here....and you've proven that you relish that reputation...by sitting on the god-damned fence around here in fear of pissing off the new-comers.

NOW, I've said all I need to, on the matter.

Fine - See it as you will, real or imagined.  Nothing I say or do will change it anyway.  But know this - I am calling people on both sides.  Just look upthread.  This crap has to stop.  Also, know this - I am very, very sporadic in my ability to participate.  So, if I am not here to scold or rub shoulders as you expect, you will be disappointed.

For whatever reason you've cut back on your participation over the past 6+ months....work, etc., the fact remains that you allowed the newcomers to savage the small contingent of Trump supporters here.

What you did about it, by cutting back on the number of posts...perhaps in disgust...had ramifications as to why we're where we're at today.

And now you want to be the "House Diplomat" again?

How about showing some appreciation and understanding and let it go?  The election is over, FGS.  It's done.  Let's get on with it.  We have liberals to battle without incessantly fighting amongst ourselves.

Great. Why not tell that to DCPatriot? Who has attacked me and others for sitting on the fence about Trump.

AW is right.  It is injudicious for the Mods to thump a Trumper on the head for being called a "Hillary voter", but let "Trump worshipper" go without even a raised eyebrow.

I've marveled at the disparity in modulation since first joining this forum.  I assumed it was because we were newbies and had been abused at TOS, but it has been ages since that time.  There comes a time when the hand-holding has to stop.  I was also often chagrined as I knew the "oldies" had to resent being pushed to the back of the bus to allow our seats.  Instead of being gracious for the seat, we took over the bus.  Granted some of the oldies were downright uncivil, but we were still allowed to toddle around here unfettered.  Is it any wonder that they were angry, even without consideration of their Trump love?

I'd show you the PM I got from the Mods for my little bit of truthfulness up thread but that's violating terms of service here and would get me banned.

Just because you don't see someone being admonished doesn't mean it's not happening.  From past experience at other forums where I really have been a Mod...not merely accused of being one...when a Mod has to admonish someone publicly 99% of the time it's because the behind the scenes requests have been ignored.

C'mon, guys. You know Myst and her mods try to be even-handed, but she's often said the mods can't be everywhere and see every little violation of forum guidelines. That's what moderator reports are for. File one if you've been falsely accused of something like being Trump worshipper or Hillary supporter.

The bickering does turn off long-time members and, for all we know, drives away potential members.  **nononono*

You claimed numerous time after he was chosen as the Nominee that you were "coming around and were going to give him a chance".....and all you've done the past 6 weeks since the election is get into @geronl territory with your screeds against him.

And what has he done?   Nothing but WIN and scare the hell out of the Democrats.

I post positive and controversial stuff on Trump. I've said repeatedly my differences with him are basically his public persona. The positive stuff equates to me posting a thumb up emoji, which is non controversial and quickly forgotten. The negative stuff tends to turn into 5 page debates.

To me, mindlessly supporting everything anyone does is a dangerous idea in a Republic.
