Wow… we go from beer and levity to the deep core of what makes us different than Statists.
Oh well. We are sharpening iron here after all.
No,but you and almost every other Christian out there seem to ALWAYS add the adjective "Christian" to the word "Conservative" and turn it into a phrase that clearly implies you can't be a conservative unless you are a Christian.
I add it to differentiate our principles and where they originate, and why we do not compromise them for pragmatism. I use the term to separate how we view Conservatism, from those who have no use for morality and consider it an embarrassment to a functioning society and government. I fully recognize a lot of self identifying Conservatives don't care about behaviors or economic policy. I proceed from the belief that without moral principles governing the minds and heart of a people in their own lives, a civil society and limited government are impossible, because human nature will dictate selecting rulers who will give them their desires at the expense of others.
Only a moral people and culture can be governed by the Constitution that was made for us. It cannot govern a wicked, debased and morally depraved people, and such people will abuse government to impose their own debauchery and redefine morality and the civil society.
HorseHillary! It may mean that to you,but it damn sure doesn't mean that to everyone.
Of course not. That is why the GOP was happy to accommodate Obama's agenda and fund it without opposition. They understand more than half the population are die-hard Liberal Leftists and Socialists that want government to be god.
As a nation and people, we WERE governed by the moral and religious codes of the faith that established the civil society.
And why today - liberty and freedom as intended for us is a growing impossibility. As nations become more corrupt and vicious (because they have no need nor use for religion or God) they have more need to be controlled by a police state just to keep a semblance of order.
Says who?
Says many of the Founders.
It works here in SPITE of religion, not because of it. That is why we have separation of Church (religion) and state here.
I still cannot find that anywhere in the Constitution. A private letter from Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists in 1801, yes. Not any Amendment that made that the law of the land.
And you were doing soooo good. Right up to the point where you included the Christian (and every other faith,I might add) as a major factor in how and why we live free. Organized religion,EVERY organized religion is about enslaving it's followers and gaining power.
You are confusing human nature infused into institutions of faith (ie: popery) with the moral principles that undergird the biblical religion. Whether you recognize it or not, we have arrived where we are culturally and politically in this divided nation, due the direct result of a people who, like you - who have little or no use for religion or the bible.
What you see in those pics of the fat, ugly feminists who demand their right to do what they want, whenever they want, on your tax dime - is the direct result of a people who have no use for and hate the very religion, principles and faith that you disdain. They think Trump embodies them - and if there is anything I have learned in life - it is that the natural mind of man, hates the entire concept of God.
