I don't think it is fair to go that far. We will be attacked no matter who takes office in January. However, if he handles it poorly, then surely his supporters should carry the blame.

I also suspect that we will have a huge economic disaster in the next year, no matter if we are attacked or not. There is a big bubble about to burst and it ain't gonna be pretty.

I actually kind of pity whoever wins in November. They are going to have a series of catastrophic events to deal with and frankly I don't think either candidate is capable.

Why not? Did he not campaign on what an existential threat they were and has now reversed it? Should he and his ongoing supporters not share the blame? If he's elected they will be responsible for a man that KNEW the threat they posed and then reversed course.

I think there is more truth in that than your offhand remark would imply.
Trump has been doing that all along - which is why something he is accused of saying 10 years ago, with an interview from that time as proof, can be countered with an article saying the exact opposite in the same relative time frame.
