Despite harsh reviews, Trump resists new debate approach

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — Unmoved by harsh debate reviews, a defiant Donald Trump showed no sign Wednesday of making any big changes before his second faceoff with Hillary Clinton, pressing ahead with a strategy focused on speaking directly to his white working-class loyalists across the Midwest.

Democrat Clinton, meanwhile, pushed to improve her standing among younger voters with the help of the president, Sen. Bernie Sanders and other key allies, 48 hours after her debate performance that seemed to spark badly needed enthusiasm.

Those closest to Trump insisted the Republican presidential nominee was satisfied with Monday night's debate, even as prominent voices within his own party called for more serious preparation next time following an opening confrontation marked by missed opportunities and missteps.

He does not seem to know any hard facts unrelated to his businesses and making money much less conservative philosophy. Do you find it strange that a man has to have others try to control him so people won't think he is a crass, mean, stupid person?  That is putting a fake person up for election, a person molded by others so the truth won't be known.

Every time I read about his "people" meeting to try to change him, I think they are trying to make a crazy person look sane.  I don't want a fake person - a person with no clothes but no one will say he is naked.  We are supposed to believe the fake person they put out in front of us.  I see the fake - I studied his life from his childhood until now and he has no redeeming qualities in my opinion.  I also think he is the most dangerous person on the planet for this country.

You are explaining why Ted Cruz, Thomas Sowell and others we admire have decided to go with Trump.  He has expressed some opinions they like and they feel there is more chance of Trump going with those decisions than Hillary.

They are indeed. The problem is that if he were to win, they will repeat the history of all fascist mobs. Some will be the rabid animals they are and the rest will stand back and encourage them with a degree of separation from their actions. So by electing Trump, you/we get the worst of all worlds.

If he loses, the rabid animal faction will still be rabid animals, but Trump won't be there to guide them and the coward set will just pretend they never heard of him. So the best choice is vote for someone worth it now so that person will have that extra bit of momentum for 2020.

I have never once known a liberal to be embarrassed. Hell just look at the things they posted since he imploded. Thanks to them we now know that one need not be a good debater or negotiator post debate, but pre debate, being a good debater and negotiator was the best reason to elect him. They said it over and over.
