No Republican candidate for president has ever led in early Florida voting.

Until now.

In 2012, Democrats dominated early voting in Florida.

In 2016, that domination has been reversed, as Donald Trump is now poised to carry the critical battleground state. Check out the numbers below, and remember, Trump also dominates the share of Independent votes as well, meaning he likely already has a 200,00+ vote lead over Hillary in Florida.

That's not early voting numbers, that's early ballot requests by party affiliation. We don't know how they are voting to know if either side is winning early voting.

2016 Early Voting Period

The early voting period consists of a minimum mandatory period of 8 days. It starts on the 10th day and ends on the 3rd day before Election Day:

Well early voting results are in for the Sunshine State — and the GOP nominee is off to a huge – in fact, historic start.

Trump leads Clinton by 120,000 votes — the first Republican candidate to EVER lead in early voting in Florida.

Headline is a lie.

The state election bureau released the number of Republican ballots requested, and the number of Democrat ballots requested.  It did NOT release vote totals.

It's just as likely that many of those Republican ballots went for Hillary Clinton.  Nobody will know that until after polls close on November 8.

As pointed out in the other thread on this, the title is misleading. Early presidential votes are not in. All this reflects are requests for absentee/early ballots by party affiliation. This doesn't indicate at all a single vote yet. When you have 30-40% of members of both major parties unsatisfied with their candidate and unlikable/untrustworthy numbers in the 70%+ range for both, we really can't read anything into these type of stories.

I did a google search, and no source besides this toprightnews.com is reporting this story.  The site itself seems kind of sketchy, with its random-cap tabloid type headlines.

Sure, early voting doesn't start for a month, but people need to understand the overwhelming wave of enthusiasm we're seeing.  Just today while running some errands in Tampa I saw TWO Trump bumper stickers, bringing the grand total I've seen so far to, well, two.

Sure, early voting doesn't start for a month, but people need to understand the overwhelming wave of enthusiasm we're seeing.  Just today while running some errands in Tampa I saw TWO Trump bumper stickers, bringing the grand total I've seen so far to, well, two.

LOL, I've seen one sign and two to three stickers in town. (about the same for Hillary).  I've actually seen more than a dozen Gary Johnson stickers- which is actually just a sign our local LP leader is very active in passing them out.

This has been the lightest election year I recall ever seeing for stickers and signs. I think I've seen more old 08 Obama or Romney stickers than I have ones relevant to this election.
