For NeverTrump Republicans, Election 2016 presents nothing but intolerant options.

Hillary Clinton is corrupt and stiff.

Gary Johnson is marginal, but libertarian.

Jill Stein is a true believer (albeit a socialist).

But Donald Trump? He’s a boorish, opportunistic, alt-right hatchet man ready to make deals and ruin our country!

Well …

What can we do to get the conservatives who still call themselves #NeverTrump … to vote for Trump?

{.. snip ..}

I won't be here after the election and vote.

If Hillary wins - I will be busy, BLOAT! (It won't be long before she won't let you buy.)

If Trump wins, I won't be here to GLOAT. (I don't want to hang around while everyone looks at every speck in his eye.)

Notice this article is positioned to address "conservatives."

Quote
What can we do to get the conservatives who still call themselves #NeverTrump … to vote for Trump?

It is not addressing that class of leftist liberal democrats like Kasich, or Jebbie, or Romney, et al.

So with respect to that leftist liberal democrats, trying to have a normal conversation with them is like teaching pig to sing. Don't try it, it is a waste of time.

On the other hand, real "conservatives, such Mark Levin, have come around.

So therefore, you can tell a real conservative from a leftist liberal democrat. Real conservatives, such as Mark Levin, have come around; but the leftist liberal democrats - well, they haven't and they won't.

1. Do not shame NeverTrumpers with arguments like: "If you don't vote for Trump, then you are voting for Hillary."

Look, it's not their fault that the front-runner candidates are Clinton, Trump, Johnson, and Stein. If they choose not to vote, they are choosing not to vote. How can anyone accuse a NeverTrumper of voting for anyone?

It’s a losing game to push conscientious voters to do something that would violate their conscience. A vote for Trump has to look like something they want to do, a decision that will further their underlying long-term goals.

Besides, I know about facing two unpalatable choices. In California, Prop 14 has created top-two jungle primaries, which has left me choosing between left-wing Democrats.

I chose not to vote. Part of the voter franchise is the right not to vote! So, forget the “You’re voting for Hillary” rant.

I would like to say 'nice try.'  But it was a lame try.

Trumpers go all around the barn for reasons to vote for him, but they can never say anything positive about the man.

They can never defend his greed, stupidity, arrogance, and licentiousness.  They don't even try.  They actually like those things, I guess.

The BEST tip:

Kick Trump off the train when the Dems replace Hillary. Give the ticket to Walker/Cruz instead. You can still call it the "Trump Train" if you want, but it would be "All Aboard!"
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

There is no tip that will work on this #NeverTrumper.

Here is a good tip for you:  When you drive to the local polling place to vote for Castle in November, if you park on the street, be sure you are 50' away from a fire hydrant, or you might get a parking ticket.

Let me give a really good example. During the 2012 campaign, Newt Gingrich was asked a question from a gay man.

Newt Gingrich to gay Iowan: Vote for Obama
http://caucuses.desmoinesregister.com/2011/12/20/gingrich-to-gay-iowan-vote-for-obama/

Quote
“I asked him if he’s elected, how does he plan to engage gay Americans. How are we to support him? And he told me to support Obama.”

Gingrich told Arnold that he doesn’t expect to get the support of voters who disagree with him on the definition of marriage and who consider that a central issue.

How refreshing! No pandering. A politician telling it like it is. The gay man was surprised you can tell by his response.

So, if you are not a conservative, the article posted on this thread is not for you.

6. If your NeverTrumper is a Cruzer, acknowledge that Cruz had every right not to endorse Trump. Share your appreciation for Cruz’s efforts in the U.S. Senate, like fighting for free Internet and defunding sanctuary cities. Tell him that you hope Cruz gets re-elected to the U.S. Senate and runs for president in eight years.

Kind of late in the game to acknowledge that Trump's behavior, along with his supporters, has been nothing less than low class when talking about Sen. Cruz.

"What can we do to get the conservatives ... to vote for Trump."

Read this question again.

"What can we do to get the conservatives ... to vote for Trump."

It is clearly written by a NON conservative to other NON conservatives. It is written to address a concern that conservatives have and that NON conservatives want to answer. The fact that NON conservatives want us to vote for Trump (who we also believe to be a NON conservative is irrelevant.)

The very fact that NON conservatives (be they Hillary or Trump supporters) want to advise us on this matter is very telling.

As for me - I take very little note or advice from NON conservatives.

Mark Levin is a good example of a conservative that has chosen to vote for Trump.

Levin has been "one inch" away from walking away from the Republican Party for years now.  He had his final chance and he blew it.

The fact that the Republican Party continues to nominate absolutely unelectable LOSERS was the last straw and has pushed me a mile over the line.

Levin can vote for whomever he wants, that's how it works... but all I can tell ya is I am NEVER voting Republican ever again.  I don't care if it's an election for the local dog catcher, if the candidate has aligned themselves with the Republican Party, I will sooner write myself in.

The Republican Party REFUSES to represent actual conservatives, in both their actions and their principals.

They can all FOADIAF for all I care.

I respect everyone's position, save those who are voting for Hillary or the Green Party.

Why would I want to ignore the article? I think it's hilarious, although I considered the arguments the author made.

Here's one argument that wasn't addressed: until Trump exorcises the petulant 9 YO boy trapped inside him, thousands of American citizens will not endorse him to be the next Commander in Chief, and all that entails.

Trump will no more heed the advice of his generals and admirals than Hillary would. That's an opinion backed up by close observation of the leadership styles, or lack thereof, of these two candidates.

If Trump can display greater maturity between now and November, then the odds of my voting for him go up.

Six good tips for dealing with #NeverTrump:

#1  Don't write nonsensical articles like this one.

#2  Jump off the Trump Train.

#3  Recognize that conservatives  don't have to vote for either NY liberal and our consciences will be just fine.

#4  Realize that conservatives chose not to compromise their principles.

#5  Concentrate on holding on to the House and Senate.

#6  Understand that you screwed up by supporting Trump; don't expect us to fix it.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Just another vain attempt to beguile and persuade the principled to abandon those principles to accept a new article of faith in a NY Liberal Democrat running as a Republican.

This is no different than self-identifying Christians who berate Biblical Christians into accepting Homosexuality or the efforts the Chrislam movement makes to get Christians to embrace Islam.

Not. Gonna. Happen.

Not with those whose principles have anchors to the Constitution and the Founding heritage and faith of the nation.

Here's how stupid these 10 ideas are:

With less than two months left before Election Day, here are 10 tips for getting NeverTrumpers in your circle of connections on board.

Quote
1. Do not shame NeverTrumpers with arguments like: "If you don't vote for Trump, then you are voting for Hillary."

A little late with that one.  Damage done to the point that you Trump militants have threatened to kill us for treason if we do not vote for your prince.

Quote
2. List for NeverTrumpers the net positives about Trump’s campaign.

There are none.  None that are to be believed given Trump's ever-changing positions and his lifelong fruits of supporting big-government liberalism.  Then there's his outrageous threats, bullying, idiocies and imbecility parading as a campaign.  Trump has simply made the divisions deeper and inspired some to promise violence and retribution in his name.

Quote
3. Show how Trump has hastened the much-needed demise of destructive political correctness, and has some solid conservative ideas.

Bullshiite.  He has no solid Conservative ideas.  His trade policies are borrowed from Hillary who took them from Commie Bernie Sanders.  As to ending PC - he has become a cartoon of every charge the Left has made of Conservatives, except his softness on homosexuals and the fact he was 'bored' with attacking Hillary's criminality after the FBI dismissed her treason.

Quote
4. Yes, you can trust Trump to govern as a conservative.

And pigs will fly, unicorns will fart Skittle rainbows.  The guy is a lifelong liberal NY Democrat, his solutions are as big government as it gets.  Anyone who thinks Trump is going to govern as a Conservative is delusional or lying to themselves and others.

Quote
If your NeverTrumper was a Carson supporter, point out Carson’s endorsement and leadership in the Trump campaign.

It's instructive what principles and affronts people will abandon for the promise of power and position.

Quote
6. If your NeverTrumper is a Cruzer, acknowledge that Cruz had every right not to endorse Trump.

More than a little late for that.  However, the Trump militant cannot help themselves in continuing to attack Cruz and his supporters at every opportunity, so this point is as elusive as expecting Trump to govern as a Conservative.  Hell, we have one Trump acolyte here who still cannot let go of bashing Bush for Iraq and everything else.

Quote
7. If your NeverTrumper is a Johnson supporter, ask him to explain that Libertarian candidate’s support for a carbon tax, Obama’s executive amnesty, and wavering on religious liberty. Ask him—but do not argue—to explain why Johnson boasts about agreeing with Bernie Sanders 73 percent of the time.

That's funny coming from a guy who is further to the Left of Hillary on Trade and borrowed nearly all of Bernie Sanders' trade policies, that Trump praised in February and touted that they had those policies in common.

Quote
8. If your NeverTrumper is—God forbid—voting for Jill Stein, walk away.

Non-sequitor. No Conservative is voting FOR Stein.

Quote
9. Talk about all the swing states. Clinton is now plummeting, and Trump is ascending. Trump is gaining in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and Florida.

Irrelevant.  Actual principled Constitutional Conservatives do not look at elections as sporting events, and don't jump onto trains and bandwagons when the destination is off the Leftist Cliff.

Quote
10. Tell them how Donald Trump is continuing to savage Clinton’s corruption, health, and integrity without holding back.

Right.  That is why Trump said this when asked about his lackluster attacks on Hillary the day after the FBI refused to indict her amidst a mountain of evidence:

"Doing it cuz I feel I have to do it and it’s sort of boring.  I want to get on to other subjects".

Those other subjects?  Mosquitoes and how awesome his benevolence is.

We have yet to see Trump savage Clinton as intensely and as personally as he did Fiorina, Cruz, Carson, Rubio, Paul and Walker.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775
