That's nice, but last I checked we are still a civilian republican democracy, not a quasi military state....

The Founders hated democracies calling them Tyranny of the Majority and stating they always were short lived and violent. America is a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy and not a representative republic. This is why in a Republic such as we are supposed to have there is no legitimate reason for the existence of super and unbound delegates which serve no purpose but to protect the ruling class.
Trump is for America First.

Unless you knew your efforts would be handsomely rewarded if you were successful!

Really?  Even Trump himself has contributed to campaigns in the past, so he must feel it's worth spending the money.

Writing a check and spending months cris-crossing the country with little time to rest are hardly equal efforts.

Pretty lame to believe it is.

I've spelled it ou several times already but once more just for you.

Trump isn't worth anywhere near $10 billion and he is neck deep in the Clintoon mob! Their markers have been called and he must deliver.

By all means expand upon Trump's relation with the Clintoon mob. I'm sure there are many here who would like that information.

Idiotic post. America is a democratic republic.

The founders hated democracies.

In an article, Are We a Republic or a Democracy, Professor Walter E. Williams of George Mason University, explains how our Founders strove to create a Republic instead of a Democracy, and why. The following are some excerpts:

James Madison, Federalist Paper No. 10:

In a pure democracy, "there is nothing to check the inducement to sacrifice the weaker party or the obnoxious individual."

At the 1787 Constitutional Convention, Edmund Randolph said, "... that in tracing these evils to their origin every man had found it in the turbulence and follies of democracy."

John Adams said, "Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There was never a democracy yet that did not commit suicide."

        Chief Justice John Marshall observed,

"Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos."

The founders didn't hate democracy, they were fearful of the trappings of pure democracy so they built into our system a bunch of checks and balances on the people's power.

President, Congress, governor, state legislature are all elected. Hence, we are a democracy.

I have been a member here since 2012. Used to have a much more impressive posting history but was away from here for a long time. It reset on me. Came back over with what happened on FR following some friends.

And the Founders would have hated Donald Trump, for all the reasons you list above.    Too much "democracy" in the nomination process has crippled the GOP's ability to stop a populist demagogue.   Perhaps there remains a chance that, at the convention,  even if Trump has "won" the majority of the delegates,  the delegates will do their Madisonian duty to turn back the passions of the mob and deny Trump's coup to murder conservatism and the party that has stood for conservative principles.

I have the feeling the Founders would weep if they knew about Donald Trump.

After all, he's never even looked at the Constitution, and even if he does someday, he'll disregard it.......

This is a sad day in America when the front-runner of the more conservative of the two parties is a non-Constitutional Progressive.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

"Sometimes I think the Church would be better off if we would call a moratorium on activity for about six weeks and just wait on God to see what He is waiting to do for us. That's what they did before Pentecost."   - A. W. Tozer
