I'd add Allen West to that list.
Thumbs up on Allen West. Good communicator.
Hasn't it been said that the Speaker of the House can be anybody?
Not even a current -member- of the House?
In that case:
- David Greenfield for Speaker
- Mark Steyn for Speaker
- Mark Levin for Speaker
If they don't want the job, I'll gladly take it and I'll work cheap.
I might even put a tie on for it, and I swore 30 years ago I would never wear a tie again!
(and haven't)...
I love Mark Steyn for his wit and sardonic humor. And wouldn't it be a hoot hearing his accent coming from the speakers chair!
But to emphasize the point again, the next speaker shouldn't be just someone promoted to the position by a back-room political process, but rather someone coming forward who has the character to wrangle Obama for the next year and win on the issues. Someone who can articulate a dynamic vision and attract public support by distinguishing conservative ideas from those of Obama's. In short, a fighter for taxpayers, not special interests.
