Because you would have to move too much to stop filming...??  These two were probably bow hunting, so they didn't have much to hold off a bear with.

What got me is that I didn't realize there were two bears until the end...

I too was surprised to see the second bear.  My first thought is 1) the second bear appears larger and 2) is possibly the mother of the other bear which, although nearly grown, is suffering adolescent behaviors and needs her discipline;  ie, the flight of the mischievous teenager and the rather pissed mother.  JMO

Doesn't help all that much with grizzlies, either. At least one climbed something like 30 feet into a tree to drag out a jogger and kill her.
