Everyone wants to get in on kicking the dead horse. I have not tried to convince myself of anyone's absence, as you seem to claim. I simply cite the Biblical wisdom, "Answer not a fool according to his folly lest thou be like unto him."
I must say, however, that your characterization of the creature being ignored probably bears a striking resemblance to reality, drool and all.....
Another quote is attached.

Here on Earth, at the equator, at sea level.  Go close to a pole, or elevate some, and they differ.  In the problem of the original post, we are to imagine a very high stack of air* which inherently breaks the relationship between Mass and Weight**.  It's why I won't play this game, and I'd rather have pie.

*  There is no need to "imagine a very high stack of air." Everyone is familiar with the ubiquitous atmosphere.  At any rate, one mile hardly qualifies as "very high" since earth's atmosphere is variously defined as 62 miles or 621 miles.

https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/how-high-is-the-earth-s-atmosphere.html#:~:text=The%20thermosphereis%20the%20final%20layer%20of%20our

** Earth's atmosphere does NOT "break the relationship between mass and weight," inherently or otherwise.

how can yo possibly claim that something "will be approximately 1/6th of it's (sic) weight on earth?

The gravitational acceleration on earth is roughly 9.8 m/s2.  The gravitational acceleration on the moon is approximately 1.625 m/s2 which is around one-sixth the acceleration on earth.  F = ma.  So with a weaker acceleration acting upon it, a kilogram (or slug) of mass will weigh roughly one-sixth as much on the moon as it does on earth.

Earth:  1 kg * 9.8 m/s2 = 9.8 N.
Moon:  1 kg * 1.625 m/s2 = 1.625 N.

The moon has no atmosphere, so any volume of air would instantly dissipate around the surface of the moon, wouldn't it, still slightly attracted by the moon's gravity.  Would that cubic mile still weigh 1/6th of it's (sic) weight on earth?

On the moon, that air would now occupy a volume infinitely greater than one cubic mile.  It's 'weight' would be one-sixth as before.  But its mass would remain unchanged - approx. 5.4 million metric tons.

A person of character and honor would apologize for his foolhardiness.

So what can we conclude when you don't?

** Earth's atmosphere does NOT "break the relationship between mass and weight," inherently or otherwise.

The only relationship between mass and force is the acceleration being applied to that mass.

F = ma

"Moon" is your word, not mine.  I asked you to explain the "difference" between a kilogram of mass, on earth and a pound, on earth.
You ignorantly bring up the moon, ignoring the patently obvious.  Seriously, you try to look smart and fail miserably.  The possessive form of "it" does not have a comma.  Seriously.

@ChemEngrMBA Gee I am so sorry that you couldn't understand the metaphor of altitude/ distance. As someone else pointed out a cubic centimeter of lead in Death valley versus the exact same one at the top of Mt. Everest has the exact same Mass but a distinctly different Weight.
This is the part where you say "Gee Verga you really are a smart guy and I apologize for making disparaging remarks about your intelligence. Just to be crystal clear I have proven you wrong and so has at least one other person. Man up and admit it.

"SEA LEVEL" is not Death Valley. It is not "the moon."  Others have agreed that at sea level, mass equals weight.  You have proved nothing except your own stubborn ignorance.  Now join Hoodat on my IGNORE LIST   You are long overdue.

Whoosh.  Right over so many heads simultaneously.
THE POINT of my illustration is the massive WEIGHT of a cubic mile of air.   NOBODY ever guesses anything in excess of five million tons, weight/mass.

The most common answer I have heard is "Nothing.  Air weighs nothing."  If that were true, not even a hummingbird could fly, much less a 900,000 pound jetliner.

You people continue to beat a dead horse.  YOUR link says this:

"Mass always stays the same, but weight can change depending on how much gravity is acting upon an object."

Please tell everyone "how much gravity is acting on the object" at sea level @Kamaji.

@ChemEngrMBA You really love to show of your ignorance.
Commercial airliners, such as the Boeing 737, Airbus A320, and Boeing 777-300ER, have maximum weights from 110,000 to 775,000 pounds.

Here is a golden opportunity for you to show off some humility.

I just returned from a walk to the drug store, and on my walk, I considered the extremely ill-advised comments of @verga.
He never stops saying the silliest things!
Verga commingled the moon with earth, and lead with air.  Seriously, if you don't understand something that simple - air and earth - how can you possibly claim that something "will be approximately 1/6th of it's (sic) weight on earth"?
The moon has no atmosphere[/u
], so any volume of air would instantly dissipate around the surface of the moon, wouldn't it, still slightly attracted by the moon's gravity.  Would that cubic mile still weigh 1/6th of it's (sic) weight on earth?

You might want to see someone about a refund on whatever educational paperwork you possess.
A person of character and honor would apologize for his foolhardiness.  I doubt that you will @verga.[/b]
@ChemEngrMBA Your position is that the Moon has NO Atmosphere
The very thin atmosphere, known as an exosphere, contains helium, argon, neon, ammonia, methane and carbon dioxide.
https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/factfile-the-moon.html#:~:text=Is%20there%20an%20atmosphere%20on,ammonia%2C%20methane%20and%20carbon%20dioxide.

You also ignored the fact that I also added Mars, before you embarrass your self further.
Mars' atmosphere is over 100 times thinner than Earth's and is primarily composed of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and argon gases.

A person of character and honor would apologize for his foolhardiness.
I have documented your errors 3 times so far and been supported by at least one other. Suck it up Bubba and admit your errors.

No, you missed the point entirely, as did many of your equally rude and offensive friends.
The point I made was the incredibly massive weight of a cubic mile of air.  That's all.  Nobody I have presented the question to has ever gotten close except two commercial jet pilots who did the calculations.

You and your pretentious pals here have beaten the horse relentlessly TRYING to show YOUR intellects.  Each of you has failed, including agnostic corbe who cannot even find evidence of Nature's God.

I don't suffer fools gladly, and far too many foolish comments have been written regarding a simple demonstration, which went to the moon, Death Valley, and now your arrogant, smartass "thank you."

ciao brutto
Join your other pretentious pals who missed the point and keep trying to say something relevant to the subject, but always fail.
