He had been sick for a few weeks and was very weak and would only go out to pee. On his last night  he was in bed with us when he suddenly jumped up, went to the end of the bed and fell off.  I grabbed him off the floor and put him back in our bed. He laid there and had a bowel movement.  I picked him up and set him on the floor as we cleaned up the bed.  We placed him back on the bed and he took his last breathes and passed away.

He was beautiful. And of course he was smart. He was a poodle. It sounds like you gave him a loving home.

It does have some industrial-strength looking claws.

Claws that long indicate it eats roots and vegetables,and maybe an occasional mouse.
