I could really relate to this, I was in a state park once and I walked down the stairs of this little forested hill and a little deer (doe?) like this took to run off from where he/she was surrounded by leaves under the tree, it's like he or she was taking a nap, I didn't even notice him so I stopped right there and started back to the top and he went back to his resting place but if I went down again, it's like he or she would get up again to run off if needed.  I just went back to the top of the hill and stared at the little deer and it looked back at me.

And it's great how the deputy freed up the deer caught in the fence.

Our latest foster got adopted in Record time on Saturday.
I followed this family into the store, they stopped to look at something and I said "Excuse me" to slide by them the mother looked down, dropped to one knee and began to pet Anjel. I told her that she was a foster up for adoption and she began to ask for details. I filled her in on the good ,bad, and too cute for words. They followed me back to the adoption and table and that was that. I miss her but she has gone to a good home.

Great story.  Not easy sometimes to get an overweight pet to shed the pounds.  But one has to try.  Obesity can shorten life in our pets as well as in us.  My brother and SIL had an overweight cat named Zima.  I'm convinced Zima's extra weight contributed to her early death at age 12.  This woman should be commended for her tireless efforts to get the dog to a healthy weight.

When I had cats, it was made clear to me that while my name is on the deed, the cats owned the house and everything in it.    LOL
