Islamic Call to Prayer Now Blasts Five Times Per Day Across Minneapolis – Setting the Precedent for Other US Cities
by Jim Hoft Aug. 4, 2026 8:15 am 2078 Comments

In case you did not know about this, the Adhan, or Islamic call to prayer, is now blasting across Minneapolis five times per day.

The Minneapolis City Council – with Muslim members – approved a resolution unanimously back in 2023 that changed the city’s noise ordinance to accommodate this public disruption.

Minneapolis is the first major US city where the adhan has become law. Minneapolis set a precedent for other Muslim communities to follow.

The Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) celebrated the passage of the resolution at the time.

Churches need to start ringing their bells before all services.  Certainly the Episcopalians and continuing Anglicans can ring the changes, the Latins can ring the Angelus, Orthodox churches can follow the Russian bell-ringing tradition and everyone can ring bells to announce all services.

If there is objection to this, a suit on First Amendment grounds can be brought demanding either that the exception made for the Muslims be rescinded or that Christians receive equal treatment.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

I agree with you, but as far as I know, none of the churches locally (and I searched 2  nearby cities to us) have any type of an outdoor ringing bell tower -- so they would have to have bells installed.   I'm not sure how many Catholic, Protestant, Episcopalian, Greek Orthodox churches throughout the country have bells, nor what the cost would be for installation.

Minneapolis is lost.
Short of something [literally] nuclear, it ain't coming back.
Better get used to that.

Dearborn, Hamtramck, Paterson, soon Detroit and New York City as well.

Don't forget, the governor of this fine state was the democrat nominee for VP of America. :wtf:

Council amended an ordinance by resolution? If that is what actually happened, and they didn't follow the proper procedure, it should be challenged. Imagine having small children or an infirm person in your house, and they can't get any sleep because of all that heathen caterwauling.

Of course, in a sane world, the voters would replace the Muzzlim-loving members of council with sane people, and order would be restored.

I'm so glad our church has a carillon. It can play hymns.

Until the Muslims locate a liberal judge they can buy and sue your church for making noise during their call to prayer. :osama:

Rural southwestern Pa. is safe, for the moment.

Loudspeakers + bell ringing recordings + cell phone/tablet/PC = 5 daily bell ringings at any volume.

True enough, but I'd rather see the Islam call to worship eliminated.
