Trump says 'Board of Peace' reaches Gaza disarmament deal
Reuters, Jul 30, 2026

July 30 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday his so-called "Board of Peace" reached an agreement for the complete disarmament ‌of Palestinian Hamas militants and other armed groups in Gaza.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump cast it as a "major milestone in the implementation of the Trump 20-Point Plan" to end Israel's war in Gaza.

He thanked mediators Egypt, Qatar and Turkey.

"This agreement is a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian ‌government that will work closely with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people," Trump said.

"At the same time, Israel will have the security it deserves," Trump added.

Earlier in the day, sources said that talks between mediators and Hamas leaders in Cairo on implementing a U.S.-brokered Gaza peace plan made rare progress although an Israeli official said proposed terms were not satisfactory.

Israeli strikes killed at least six Palestinians in Gaza on Thursday, including two children, medics said.

"Under this agreement, Gaza will finally be in the hands of a new Palestinian government that serves its PEOPLE."

"Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors."

Trump says Hamas agreed to next phase of Gaza peace deal, including disarmament, negotiated by "Board of Peace"
CBS News, Jul 30, 2026

President Trump said Thursday evening Hamas and his international "Board of Peace" have agreed on the next steps in a peace deal that includes Hamas' disarmament in the Gaza Strip.

In a Truth Social post, the president called it a "HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza," and a "monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY."

Hamas communicated through mediators that it agreed to the final text of the plan, including decommissioning their weapons, U.S. and Board of Peace officials told reporters Thursday.

Hamas has agreed to the plan for Gaza's disarmament, a senior Hamas official told CBS News' partner network BBC News. Israel has not yet publicly commented on Mr. Trump's announcement.

Under the plan, Israeli forces would withdraw from parts of Gaza as "disarmament is completed," Mr. Trump said Thursday, with an International Stabilization Force and a new Palestinian police force responsible for security.

Israel must approve Trump agreement before Hamas will implement, says Hamas official
Reuters, Jul 31, 2026

CAIRO, July 31 (Reuters) - Implementation of the deal to bring peace to Gaza announced by U.S. President Donald Trump will depend on Israel first meeting its commitments under an agreement reached ‌last year, a senior Hamas official told Reuters on Friday.

Previous attempts to reach an agreement have foundered amid mutual suspicion and each side's insistence that the other must move first, and there still appears to be some distance between the two sides.

On Friday, Hamas issued a statement saying the first step towards an agreement would have to be a commitment by Israel "to stopping the killing and ending its attacks".

[...]

Ghazi Hamad, a Hamas official involved in the negotiations, said the group was ready to accept an agreement he said was "difficult and painful".

But he avoided using the term disarmament and said the agreement was a "comprehensive framework" that would depend on Israel implementing the first phase of the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement.

Under that agreement, he said Israel was obliged to end its attacks in Gaza and withdraw its forces to where they stood in October, as well as increase the flow of goods and aid coming into the enclave.

Only then would Hamas agree to hand over its weapons for storage by the new National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), the Palestinian technocratic body set up to run the enclave.

"We insisted to the mediators that Israel must abide by the agreement," he said.

Israel won't sign on to anything until they see Hamas disarm.  Since they won't, and Israel isn't stupid, this agreement is Dead on Arrival.

Hamas says it will not disarm in Gaza before Israel withdrawal

The Palestinian movement said it would relinquish its weapons to allow for a technocratic administration to run the besieged territory

MEE staff  |  31 July 2026 |  10:35 BST

A senior Hamas official has said that the Palestinian movement will not take any steps toward disarmament before Israeli forces withdraw from Gaza.

Ghazi Hamad told Al Jazeera that Israel would have no role in the disarmament process. Instead, it is set to be carried out by a Palestinian national committee.

The armed group has largely abided by a ceasefire agreement that came into effect in October last year, as Israel continues a sustained bombing campaign in violation of the agreement, killing more than a thousand Palestinians and injuring many more.

According to the AFP news agency, Hamas sources said that the Palestinian technocratic committee established by the Board of Peace to govern Gaza will be "the sole entity" overseeing the process of managing and storing the group's weapons.

In separate comments to Reuters, Hamas reiterated that the handover of weapons was contingent on the withdrawal of Israeli forces, along with the increased flow of aid and goods into the territory.  .  .

This one will be dead before it can start because there is no way that Hamas will disarm, even after Israel withdraws all its forces from Gaza!

Hamas hasn't disarmed

The Gaza ceasefire and peace framework calls for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
The 2005 agreement structures this withdrawal alongside the *phased disarmament* of Hamas and other militant groups in the territory.  This agreement takes a crack at the phases.

Here's the Hamas response ....

With all eyes on Iran, the Strait of Hormuz, and Lebanon, Israel's been having a bit of a field day in Gaza.  See below:

AI Overview

Israel has reportedly broken the Gaza ceasefire through near-daily military attacks, severe humanitarian aid restrictions, and ground incursions. (Both sides have traded accusations of violating the terms brokered under the ongoing peace framework.)

Israeli Military Actions and Attacks

°. Conducting thousands of military strikes by air, artillery, and direct tank fire across the Gaza Strip since the agreement began.

°. Casualties: Killing more than 1,200 Palestinians and injuring nearly 4,000 due to continued kinetic military actions.

°. Ground Incursions: Raiding residential areas and moving past agreed-upon boundary markers like the "yellow line".**

**Israel has expanded its military control in the Gaza Strip beyond the initial 53% allotted under the October 2025 ceasefire agreement, moving physical markers and pushing deeper into the territory. Israeli military forces now control between 65% and 70% of the enclave.

The concrete markers and barriers defining the military "Yellow Line" have been pushed westward into neighborhoods like Zeitoun, Tuffah, and Shejaia in Gaza City, as well as parts of Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis.**

Israeli Humanitarian and Economic Restrictions

°. Aid Blockades: Permitting only a fraction of required humanitarian aid trucks to enter Gaza while delaying shipments with extensive inspections.

°: Restricted Goods: Banning vital nutritious foods, fuel, and heavy machinery needed for clearing rubble and basic recovery.

The question needing an answer is:   Do these two tap dancers really want peace?  If they both don't want a more stable and secure Gaza ---- and by extension the greater Middle East ----  we should be prepared to leave on the next plane out and not look back.

Hamas says it has agreed to disarm after Trump announces Board of Peace plan

US President Donald Trump says the Board of Peace has reached an agreement for the "complete disarmament" of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza.

A senior Hamas official has told the BBC the group has agreed to the Board of Peace's plan to completely disarm in Gaza and that an official statement would be released soon. Israel has yet to comment.

The board, created and led by Trump, said in a statement that the agreement concludes months of "intensive, good faith negotiations", and that its focus is now on implementation.

It is part of the second phase of a US-brokered Gaza ceasefire plan that includes the disarmament of Hamas, the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the reconstruction of Gaza.

It may as well be.  Hamas isn't about to disarm, even if Israel bugs out their forces first, as Hamas demands (and Israel has not agreed to this condition).  This will require liberal application of Pixie Dust and Unicorn Farts!

Israel Bombards Gaza, Days After Trump Announced Deal to Advance Cease-Fire
The deal announced by President Trump calls in part for Hamas to give up its weapons and Israel to stop its attacks in Gaza.

Aug 1, 2026

Palestinians inspecting the aftermath of a strike near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in
Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, on Saturday.

Israeli strikes in Gaza on Saturday killed at least two people and damaged warehouses for medical supplies, Palestinian officials said, despite a recent deal between President Trump’s Board of Peace and Hamas to advance the Gaza cease-fire.

One of the strikes destroyed and damaged the warehouses at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza before dawn on Saturday, said Khalil Dagran, a hospital spokesman. The outpatient clinic was also damaged, he added, though there were no reports of casualties.

The Israeli military said it had bombarded the warehouses because Hamas was storing weapons there and using the facility as a hide-out. Mr. Dagran disputed the Israeli allegation, adding that Israeli forces had warned Palestinians to flee ahead of the bombing.

A second Israeli strike on Saturday, in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, killed two Palestinians, according to local health officials. The Israel military confirmed the attack but declined to provide details about why the two were targeted.

The strikes came days after Mr. Trump announced that Hamas had agreed to give up its weapons during negotiations with his Board of Peace, a body that he formed last year to oversee a truce between Israel and Hamas. Hamas’s disarmament had become a monthslong sticking point in moving forward from that initial cease-fire.

The 'Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital' is a Hamas Headquarters disguised as a hospital.  This is an awfully large hole for just one missile.  It is consistent with a small weapons depot being struck by a missile.
