Berlin’s Christopher Street Day LGBTQ+ pride parade was forced to end early on Saturday evening after a van was driven by an unknown motorist into a crowd of people, injuring over a dozen.

UPDATE 27/7 0230: Berlin Police have announced that they have identified a suspect in connection with the vehicle ramming at the Berlin Pride Parade on Saturday. A police spokesman said that the suspect is “known to the police” and is believed to be an “Islamist”. The force said that a “public manhunt” for the suspect is to be “launched shortly”.


UPDATE 27/7 0130: According to German paper of record Die Welt, the vehicle used in the apparent attack was rented to a man named “Abdul B.” Born in 2005, Abdul was reportedly released from juvenile detention in May. Police have not confirmed if he is a suspect in connection with the incident at the Pride Parade on Saturday evening.

One person died and at least 16 others were injured when a van driven by a man with Islamic extremist ties slammed into a crowd of people celebrating at Berlin’s famed LGBTQ+ event Saturday night, officials said.

After the horrific attack on the event — which is called Christopher Street Day after the famed location in New York of the Stonewall Inn — the attacker fled, but police said they were hot on his trail.

“The suspect is known to police. He is known to us as a member of Islamic circles here in Berlin, and our search for this person is proceeding at full speed,” police spokesman Florian Nath said.  ...

Berlin police shot and killed the suspect in this weekend’s deadly attack in the city’s Pride festival after he allegedly charged at officers with a knife while they tried to arrest him Sunday, authorities said.

The 21-year-old suspect was found at 6 p.m. local time at an allotment garden complex in the Spandau district, Berlin police said. Authorities said he rushed at members of the city’s special police unit, or SEK, with a weapon, prompting officers to open fire. Despite firefighters’ resuscitation efforts, he died at the scene. ...

Police had identified the suspect as 21-year-old Abdul B., whom officials describe as a “radicalized” member of “Islamist circles” in Berlin.

“Everything we are seeing here indicates that we have experienced an Islamist attack,” German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt told a press conference on Sunday.

He identified the suspect as a German citizen of Lebanese background known to police after committing crimes in the past.  ...

The authorities already knew a lot about the terrorist who killed and maimed Pride participants in Germany yesterday.

They knew that:
-he travelled to Lebanon to join the Islamic State in 2025.
-he was arrested and returned to Germany.
-he was held in pre-trial detention until May 2026.
-he was ordered to undergo a de-radicalisation programme.
-he was convicted in May 2026 of preparing a ‘serious act of subversive violence’, but given a suspended sentence rather than jail.
-he was known to police as a member of Islamist circles in Berlin.
-police received a recent tip-off that he had posted a photograph of himself posing with a weapon & searched his apartment.

Despite all this, he remained at liberty to attack innocent people.
Has there ever been a time in history when governments were so unwilling to protect their citizens?

If there were any smart people in the Democrat party, they would urge the party to shy away from courting both LBGT and Muslims under the same tent.

They hate each other, and one group is perfectly happy to just kill the other group.
