Unfortunately, the older they get, the more of a 'come to Jesus' moment it will take.
At this point, a pickhandle parade meeting up with their chimp out might have an effect, but it would have to look like the NYC hardhat riots.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_Hat_Riot
Maybe so. I come at it young in my life... For stealing jam from the pantry or sassin my mamma... My father's way (and he was Father when he had his Judgement hat on, not Daddy) didn't involve woodsheds or switches. It was always immediate, in real time, and felt like God himself was raining hell on me.
Funny how he never left a bruise. Dan Fogelbergs 'Leader of the Band' says it right -
He earned his love through discipline, a thundering velvet hand
His gentle means of sculpting souls took me years to understand.Made all the difference, wild as I was and all. Right and wrong were never left to chance, and in the end, that's what I came back to.
Even today, with daddy long gone, and grands of my own, ever I act a fool, I would expect him to rise up out of his grave, just to slap me upside my fool head. And I'd have it coming.

I wonder how many of these little darlings come from single parent households with no old man... I bet that's a thing.
