Leah Sharibu is an African Christian woman captured and held in captivity in Nigeria for eight years. Setting her free should be a prime concern of Western human rights organizations.
She has all the qualifications to make it to the top of their lists: she is a woman, she is black, she was kidnapped, raped, and impregnated by her captors, and treated this way only because of her beliefs.
More recently, a 20-year-old Alawite girl, Batoul Suleiman Alloush, was kidnapped from her university campus in Latakia, Syria on May 3, 2026, also because of her faith. She, too, will get no help from organizations in the West that were created to save people just like her.
