As Jewish Republicans sour on JD Vance, many are rallying behind Marco Rubio for 2028

Prominent GOP figures say they prefer Rubio amid concerns over antisemitism on the right and Vance’s silence on figures like Tucker Carlson.

It’s no secret that JD Vance has lost the confidence of many Jewish Republicans, who have taken issue with the vice president’s reprimanding of Israeli officials, indulgence of anti-Israel conspiracy theories and silence on Tucker Carlson, the prominent pundit who has turned against Israel.

But Vance is still thought by many to be Donald Trump’s likeliest successor at the top of the party’s ticket in 2028, leaving the GOP’s Jewish supporters with the question of whom to back when Trump’s second term ends.

Many are finding an answer elsewhere in the Trump administration.

“The overwhelming majority of American Jewish MAGA voters, donors, and policymakers are enthusiastically supporting a Marco Rubio presidential run,” Shabbos Kestenbaum, whose high-profile activism against campus antisemitism has made him a hero among Jewish conservatives, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency this week. “I look forward to voting for him as well.”............

Kestenbaum was offering an update on a claim he made in an interview at a Republican Jewish Coalition gala in May.

“I can certainly tell you with confidence that in the American Jewish conservative circles, it’s Marco Rubio by a margin of 99 to 1,” he said at the time. “In fact that’s probably underselling it, it’s probably closer to 100 to 0. I can’t think of anyone within the American Jewish MAGA movement who would not want Marco Rubio as the nominee.”.............

It will not be Rubio or Vance.  By the time the next 2 years tick off, the electorate will want someone NOT tied to Trump.  Rubio has never impressed me.  NEVER!!!

JD Vance is too wet behind the ears to make him POTUS.  If he decides to run, Gov DeSantis will take the lead early and he will win the Republican nomination.  He is the single most solid Republican candidate out there.  He has a strong record for his time as governor that he will easily win IMHO.

Trump endorses either one of his team, or another, it may well cost them an election.

And I believe Trump's total failure to end the war in Ukraine will hinder anyone tied to him.  Rubio accomplished nothing with Ukraine.  And Trump's typical empty rhetoric about ending the Ukraine War in 24 hours will come back to haunt him and anyone on his team wishing to be POTUS.  To date, I have not been impressed by the efforts to deal with the Ukraine War.

And I cannot begin to tell you how it irks me when he refers to the modern day Adolph Hitler, Vladimir Putin as his good friend.  Ugggh!

All that along with the aw-shit of the Iran War will have the American people long tired of Trump and all in his wheelhouse.  We may well end up with a Democommie as our next POTUS.  God forbid!

JD is talking himself out of the 2028 Nomination for President.

BTW, only 15% of the American Jewish population of registered voters are Republican.  I would say who they support is totally inconsequential.

Not a group large enough to base that decision on.

I too, am souring on Vance.  Born again Christians... UHG.

If you want to send young gentiles to die in the Middle East, then Marco Rubio is your man.  If you want to be in charge of a tropical garbage mountain, Rubio is your guy.

My preference would be DeSantis as well. I don't know of anyone who has proven to be a more solid conservative than him. In my mind the presidency is his if he wants it.

Vance and Rubio .... well ... honestly, neither truly appeal to me for various reasons.  Rubio did state awhile ago if JD ran, he wouldn't oppose him.  We'll see what happens.

Never in my voting lifetime has the nominee that I wanted actually made it to be the nominee.

Conservatives soured on Vance back in 2024.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

Desantis is the RON we’ve needed all along.

I hope we all talk him up again enough for him to really run.  I can’t believe I don’t hear anything about him anymore.  He’s fantastic.  So much better than Trump….and maybe we could get our soul back.  Trump is poison mostly, and nothing like Reagan who made it all cool to be Republican.  All Trump did is get many whackos worshipping him while the other half of voters completely rabidly hate him.
Common sense is an uncommon virtue.
