LONG OVERDUE: State Department to Crack Down on Universities That Take Money From Foreign Entities on Government Watch Lists
by Mike LaChance Jul. 17, 2026 10:00 pm

The State Department and a handful of other government agencies are going to start cracking down on colleges and universities that take money from foreign entities that are on government watch lists.

This is something we should have been doing for years, but better late than never.

Higher education is always looking for new forms of revenue and will take cash from pretty much anywhere. It’s a significant threat to national security.

“Our government teaches the whole people by its example. If the government becomes the lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy.” Louis D. Brandeis
