Excerpt:
Maine Democrats are still scrambling to put together a credible challenge to Republican Sen. Susan Collins after Graham Platner’s campaign fell apart amid serious personal allegations.
Several candidates have jumped into the race to replace him, and one of them is Ashley Webb.

Webb is running as a grassroots Democrat focused on healthcare access, infrastructure, and holding government accountable. He’s handling much of his own campaign and has been showing up in small towns across the state.

During a recent debate on News Center Maine, the candidates were asked what qualifies them to serve in the U.S. Senate.

Webb’s answer stood out.

Dems go from a dude with a Nazi tattoo to a guy in a dress. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

What are they raising in Maine? Fruit cakes?

They're not called Maine-iacs for nothing.

Away from the coast, Maine is primarily poor and rural with old mill towns - some mills are still open, many are long-cloed.

There are also some college towns in Maine which is home to Blue Blood W.A.S.P.'y Bowdoin College.

Portland has become a liberal mecca - economic refugees from the high cost of living in Mass.  This migration accelerated after Amtrak introduced DownEaster service from North Station, Boston, to Portland, Maine.

Also, more economic refugees from Mass are also working remotely from Maine or have retired to Maine.  Yeah, there's still Winter, but it does offer a lower cost of living with significantly less risk of Hurricanes destroying your home.  Plus, home insurance in Florida is pricing out many people on fixed incomes.

Maine has traditionally a Yankee Blue Blood (Bush '41 type) Republican state.  I don't think its state Democratic Party is less established and is primarily comprised of younger radical liberals (aka freaks).

So, Maine is certainly full of characters ... like a Steven King novel.
"Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it’s entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." - Alan Simpson, Frontline Video Interview

The Maine Senate Debate Was Pure Dumpster Fire — Even The New York Times Admits It
Matt Margolis

When Graham Platner dropped out of Maine's Senate race, Democrats figured they'd dodged a bullet. All they had to do was find a competent replacement to take on Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), and the seat was theirs for the taking. That was the narrative, anyway.

Then their candidates took the stage Thursday night for the first primary debate, and the bullet found them anyway.

The debate, hosted by News Center Maine on July 16, featured four candidates in the first hour: former State Senate President Troy Jackson, Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, former congressional aide Jordan Wood, and Dr. Nirav Shah, all of whom lost separate Democrat primaries for higher office in Maine earlier this year. This is the B team.

Don't take my word for it.

The New York Times, which would love nothing more than to watch Collins lose, reviewed the performance. "Halting answers. Convoluted responses and stilted deliveries,” was its verdict. “Former State Senator Troy Jackson, Secretary of State Shenna Bellows and Jordan Wood, a former congressional aide, all struggled to match the forceful message and rhetorical prowess of Mr. Platner, whose rallies electrified voters over the last year."

When even the New York Times can't spin a Democrat debate into a triumph, you know it was ugly.

The correct answer: "I am young and I'm ambulatory."

Yep.  Those Platner rallies can be electrifying.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

Okey dokey.

Maine Democrat Ashley Webb, who said he would not "lie" or "deceive" people, claims in Reddit posts that he "ovulates" and has a monthly period, but because he has "external male parts" instead of "the proper hole," the period blood comes out of his anus.

If he's bleeding out his rear, he may not have much more time left on this earth.

A trans intersex activist vying to replace disgraced Maine Senate wannabe Graham Platner as the Dem Party candidate has gone viral for their absurd answer about their qualifications in a debate Thursday.

Loopy longshot Ashley Webb gave a bizarre rambling response when asked by a moderator what qualifies them for the top office.

“I ran for office several times. Didn’t win, but I did run,’’ the Democrat chuckled.

Disgraced former Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner speaks on June 9, 2026.

“And then I’m a songwriter, and then I write my own books, and then I suppose my transparency,’’ Webb said. “I wouldn’t lie to the people, and I wouldn’t deceive the people like we’re being deceived right now. Like we get lied… smoke and mirrors.
